The Victoria GAZETTE |
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Loved reading about your trip to the Scandinavian countries and just seeing where you both came from. Felt like I was right there, too. What a memory. Found the fishhook on your Gazette mailbox on page 4. Linda Worm Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Jerry and I took the August Gazette up to the cabin this weekend and read about the trip you and Allan enjoyed in the Scandinavian countries. We both thoroughly reading about your adventures and how you were able to catch up and spend time with members of your 'distant' families. It was really a touching article. The pictures were wonderful and the description of the food was fantastic. I felt, at times, like I was in your back seat taking it all in. Needless to say, you have inspired both of us to take a similar trip at some point. Jerry's Great Grandfather Moja came to Minnesota when he was 8 years old with just the clothes in his suitcase along in the ship. His family is from the Kuckhoven area in Germany and he has always talked about taking a trip there to meet his distant relatives. Reading about your trip ignited those dreams again. Jerry's late mother Sybil did complete some genealogical research so we might be able to use some of that to take a similar trip some day. Thanks for allowing us to share in the trip with you. Kim Roden and Jerry Moja Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: After 57 years we will miss our Victoria home. Actually, the land upon which our home stands was part of my great grandfather's farm. He settled here in 1854. Our house was built from wood from the old District #16 school which stood at the entrance to the Lowry Nature Center by my Great Uncle Christian Fink. Yes, Maddy Schalow is only two apartments away from ours. While we had put our name in for Westview Acres in Waconia some time ago, the apartment which we'll be getting does not become available too often and there are only 12 in the whole complex so we decided to take it. Uncle Ron Holtmeier Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Our committee of three -- Jerry Hartman, Dave Beneke, and myself -- appreciated the photo and article in your August issue of the Gazette. Randy Miller Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Is there a way we could get on your mailing list for the paper? We have not been able to see your fine work in final form. We really liked what you did with the ad. When you have a moment, could we get a tutorial on the paper? Your online stuff looks good. Need to know a little more on the cruising aspects of it all. Maybe we'll meet you at Volksfest. Cheryl and Bob Ayotte Chanhassen, Minnesota
To the Editor: We want to thank all of our fabulous clients that have taken the time to vote for us. We are so honored to have been voted "Best of 2012" for Southwest Metro Magazine in the Best Salon and Spa category as well as Best Mani and Pedi. The Parlour Salon & Spa Victoria, Minnesota
