The Victoria

GAZETTE

September 2012

To the Editor:

I am the new communications coordinator with Aquajets Swim team.  We are based in Eden Priaire, but draw swimmers from all over the metro area.  We have a few swimmers from Victoria and they are doing quite well.  Would you have a place in your newspaper for news about how well they are doing in swim meets?  We recently had the MN State Championships, and I'd love to send an article about how well the four Victoria swimmers did in it.

To the Editor:

I am really impressed with the job that you do, putting out a 40+ page paper every single month.  I did a 24-page nearly single-handedly, without ads, and thought that was a lot.  Kudos!

To the Editor:

Frank Jones, who served the Moravian Church of Lake Auburn for many years, has accepted a half time appointment to serve the Berea Moravian Church through 2013.  The location is in the St. Charles area of Minnesota.

To the Editor:

Thank you for the Gazette.  I enjoy it very much.  I am writing to let you know I found the fishhook on page 4 in the mailbox for all your letters to the editor.

To the Editor:

Thank you for running so many of our Arboretum photos in the Gazette.  We appreciate it.  Let me know when you come for lunch and I'll swing by and say hi.

To the Editor:

It was fun bumping into you at Volksfest.  It was the best one yet!  I'm wondering if you would be willing to publish a short article about a specific ministry in our church.  It's a scrap metal collection ministry that donates its proceeds to help pay for special efforts.  We used it to pay for the paving of our parking lot and now it's being used to support a building fund.

We'd like to get the word out to the community of Victoria so that they know they have a nonprofit organization that will come get their scrap quickly and easily, and that their contribution helps a local nonprofit.  Thank you.

To the Editor:

It was good seeing Kathy Kraemer in your August paper.  I haven't seen her for at least 15 years!  My mom taught Kathy the works at canning tomatoes.  Mom had a surplus of tomatoes in the summer of 1988.  It was hot like our summer of 2012, but not as long!  The three Kraemer boys thought Missy's doghouse was a cool fort and Missy was all excited about her "guests."  I held her down while they camped in Missy's house but she squired away from me and gave the boys slobbery kisses.

Kathy and my mom went to Kathy's van with the tomatoes and Kathy calls out, "Nicholas!  Lance!  Jonathan!"  Out of Missy's doghouse pop the three blond faces peppered with dog kisses.  My mom says, "Where's Missy?"  Out pops Missy from the doghouse too, and everybody busts out laughing.
