Early Birds.  At least two people usually beat the piano player, the alter servers, the priest, and the rest of the congregation to the 5:00 p.m. Mass on Saturday evenings at St. Victoria.  John Scott, left, and Flori Diethelm, both residents of Victoria, sit and visit a while and read the church bulletin in the gathering space until everybody else shows up.  ~S.O.

Sunny Soldiers. This is a small part of last Saturday afternoon's catch totaling 42 sunfish.  The first one at the bottom is the largest sunny I believe I've ever caught.  A good time was had by all.  The white bucket was half full of fish.  The deer flies and mosquitoes were waiting around the corner of the garage for us, waiting for us to start cleaning the lot.

Sisters at Fresh Seasons.  I thought you might appreciate this photo of Anne, left, and Olivia working together at Fresh Seasons Market in Victoria.  We love our community grocery store.  Shopping there feels like shopping with family.

Kelly Jean Diethelm, daughter of Bob & Darla Diethelm of Victoria, and Aaron Joseph Schow, son of Steven and Sandra Schow of Gaylord, are engaged to marry on Saturday, September 29th.  Kelly graduated from Argosy University in 2007 and is a dental hygienist at a dental office in Chanhassen.  Aaron is a home delivery specialist in Eden Prairie.

Michael and Thomas Henry have been busy this summer raising money for the MiracleKids Triathlon.  They have been selling lemonade and golf balls.  They have surpassed their $1,000 goal with more than $100 coming from their stand alone, which was set up near the Deer Run Golf Course.  They got the rest of the donations from family, friends, neighbors, and went door to door to meet their goal.  Michael and Thomas were in the August 18th MiracleKids Triathlon at Lake Ann in Chanhassen, their first year.

The Cabin Crew. Our group recently celebrated 30 years of being together at a cabin in Northwestern Wisconsin in the middle of July.  We have been friends even longer.  All of us have been, or currently are, employed at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.  We have lost one member, Rosemarie Hilk, in 1995.  We keep her memory alive.
