The Victoria GAZETTE |
To the Editor: I had a chance to read Cowboy Tom's article in the last issue of the Gazette. I am really amazed on how well I can relate to a bunch of dogs getting together, as it seems to fit with getting a bunch of kids under the age of seven together. I substitute our daughter Kierra and her cousins' names for the dogs' names at Tom's Christmas party (minus a few of the actions, by the way). It is really nice to see that the humans/parents remain just that -- humans/parents -- just trying to keep some sort of order in a relatively calm way. Life with a four-year old going on fourteen!! Happy New Year. Michelle McNallan Chanhassen, Minnesota
To the Editor: I am in the process of placing all our home videos on DVD for my kids. I am on the second hour of Kid Wrestling, after watching every birthday and Christmas. I texted my kids, saying, "Do you know how spoiled you were!!" and each of them texted back, "Absolutely!!" So that is a good sign. But the total chaos with all those kids got me ready for all my grandpuppies that Tom wrote about, and hopefully grandchildren one day. Take care, and Happy New Year. To the Editor: Hi, Sue. My name is Dana Mucha. I'm a resident of Golden Valley and work in Chaska. I have an August 2011 issue of the Victoria Gazette with a page entitled "The Guys Have It," and I would like to make two copies of that page for my boyfriend Greg Worm and his brother Mike Worm for a late holiday gift. I would like to blow up the photo and then have those copies matted onto posterboard so they can hang them on the wall in their homes. The printer requires that you, the Gazette, sign off on their "Copyright Owner Reproduction Permission Request Form." Would that be okay with you? Thank you, Sue, for your consideration. Happy New Year. Dana Mucha Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hello. I tried to find a place on your website to send you a news tip, but all I could locate was your email. I hope you'll pass on this information. via email
EDITOR'S NOTE: There's nothing more important than my email when trying to reach me or the Gazette. Glad you found it.
To the Editor: This past summer, businesses in Victoria participated in a frequent shopper program called PointStack to encourage local shopping during the Highway 5 construction. Participants who shopped at local businesses earned points through the program and had the option of donating their points to local charities in the form of cash. Two Girl Scout troops from Victoria (#15386 and #12813) partnered together for this program and collected $210 to plant trees in the City of Victoria. The Girl Scouts are partnering with Garden by the Woods and working with the City of Victoria to find a location to plant the trees on city property. The cost of each five-gallon tree will be approximately $25 and will be planted this spring. If interested contact Rae Ann Vandeputte at 612-381-7908. Thank you. Rae Ann Vandeputte Chaska, Minnesota
