I finally did it. I spent an afternoon in an ice fishhouse and it didn't hurt one bit. We were out on Lake Sakakawea where our daughter Jenny and family spend their winter weekends fishing and enjoying one more adventure in their adventurous lives.

The fishhouse was warm and very comfortable with tables and beds and ice fishing holes that can be covered or used. There's electricity, a small stove, microwave oven, a potty, a flat screen TV, and cabinetry to store almost anything you'd like, including family board games. It gives "lake home" a whole new meaning.

The place is 20 minutes from their land home and it was the place where granddaughter Addie chose to open presents and celebrate her 10th birthday with us.

Did we catch any fish? No, there wasn't even a nibble, but that doesn't seem to be the point of going there. However, the point of this column every month is to catch the person nibbling when I dip into the minnow bucket for the winner of this $10 drawing.

This time it was Jerry Tiggelaar of Norwood Young America. The fishhook was wrapped around the trunk stem of the money tree in the Catholic United Financial ad on page 24 in the January 2013 issue of the Gazette. Congratulations to all of you who found it, and especially to Mr. Tiggelaar whose name sort of gives me the tiggels.
