To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  As you know, Jerry and I are moving to Florida at the end of the month.  We bought a nice home in Osprey which is just south of Sarasota.  I'll be here for delivery of your September issue but not going forward.  Please send my October Gazette (and future editions) to Osprey, Florida.  As  we get settled, I will send you an update.  It was great having you as a neighbor, friend, and newspaper editor.  Best regards.

To the Editor:

My name is Lorna (Hughes) Reeley.  I recently found a story online that you did about the Marsh Lake Hunting Club.  I was very interested in the photos you took.  I lived at Marsh Lake Hunting Club (Preserve, as it was known then) back in 1969-1971.  My dad, Loren Hughes, was the General Manager of the Club at that time and we lived in the apartment attached to the Club House.

The reason I am writing is that I would be interested in the full/high resolution photo files that you took.  I visited Marsh Lake a few years ago and did not take any good photos.

I am now in the process of putting together a photo album book of my life and the places I have lived.  It is only for personal use and would not be sold or distributed in any way.  When I tried to use your online photos, Shutterfly said the resolution was not high enough.

I don't know if you still have those files or if you would be willing to share them with me.  I do not need the close-ups of the people and would actually remove (photoshop) them from the clubhouse before I used them.  Thanks so much for your help.

To the Editor:

Our son in law Dave Hawley has come up with this wonderful new cooking product (can be purchased at Victoria's Fresh Seasons Market in front of the meat cooler).  It's called Barrel Butter.  It is a finishing butter not to be used for actual cooking.  When your vegetables or steak are completed cooking, you add this to it.

David has entered his product into a contest to see what new small company product can garner the most votes nationally between now and the Super Bowl.  The winning product will have a professionally produced TV commercial created at no cost that will run during the Super Bowl Game.

You can vote every day on every electronic device you have.  Dave and Marissa are the parents of our grandsons, Owen and Austin.  Please vote and vote often.  Here's the link: www.smallbusinessbiggame.com/mn/Barrel-Butter-LLC/376843.

You can vote once every day and from multiple devices.

To the Editor:

I've announced my candidacy for the United States Senate and the race to defeat Al Franken has begun.

During my announcement I renewed my commitment to the values of more freedom, smaller and better government, trust in the hardworking people of Minnesota, and the principles upon which our nation was founded.

The news of our campaign spread quickly.  The outpouring of support I've received confirms what I already believed:  Minnesota is ready for a United States Senator who will work for solutions, not headlines.

As I travel across Minnesota I hear many of you tell me how frustrated you are with our politicians in Washington.  Our citizens want our government to be solving problems and working on behalf of the people.  Instead what we get are celebrities trolling for headlines and never ending bickering leading to more spending and less freedom.

In short, if we could instill some good old Minnesota common sense in the United States Senate, maybe progress could be made on the real problems facing our nation.  I believe in America.  The principles of our Founding Fathers are just as important today as they were in our initial fight for freedom.

During my time in the Minnesota Senate, I've compiled a consistent record of standing with the people and against big government.  In the U.S. Senate I'll continue to work for you.

Our opponent will be well funded by liberals from all across the country.  I'm counting on the support of grassroots supporters to deliver our message throughout our great state.  I look forward to seeing many of you on the campaign trail.
