Mollie B and My Dad.  When Mom called to tell me they were driving up to the Stiftungsfest at Norwood Young America to see Ted Lange and Mollie B under the big tent (Ted Lange is Mollie B's husband) and could we join them, I said surely we could.  And we did.  We sat under the big tent with hundreds of other people and enjoyed all of it -- not just Mollie B, but also Barefoot Becky and the Ivanhoe Dutchmen, whom I've bumped into when channel surfing here at home in Victoria, and Die Fidelen Kirchheimer, a bunch of musicians directly from Germany.

Lucas the Ironman.  Our son Lucas Heibregtse just completed his first Ironman in 13 hours, 35 minutes, 51 seconds at the North American Ironman Championship held in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, Canada.  It was a fantastic time and he beat his goal by nearly a full hour.  A great time, considering he was the second youngest competitor at the age of 20.  The average age of Ironman competitors is 37.

The Ironman was held in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, Canada, on Sunday, August 18th, 2013.  Of course, Lucas had his own cheer section of friends and family in attendance.  The Ironman consists of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike, and a 26.2-mile full marathon.  It is definitely a daunting task and an amazing accomplishment.

Lucas is a senior this year at the University of Minnesota.

Hadley Janet Murphy was born at 7:41 p.m. on Saturday, August 10th, 2013, weighing 7 pounds 12 ounces, to Alexandra and Joe Murphy of Chaska.  Proud grandparents are Rick and Janney Stucki of Victoria and Dan and Teresa Murphy of Eden Prairie.

Champion Moms and their Daughters.  The Victoria moms (aka Vic Chics) were on a championship team in the local Women's Softball League a few years ago and now their daughters played on a team in the recent Victoria Lions Tournament Weekend.  It might be noted that the daughters fell short of winning the hardware that their moms once did, but we're proud of all of them.  For sure, all of us moms had far more fun watching our girls play in our old uniforms and reliving all of those golden memories than any of the girls had actually playing in the Lions Tournament.  Watch next year.  The girls may make another appearance.
