Walking on Sunshine by Chuck Freiberg, Up North Cabin Guy.  “Things at work are going well for the Cabin Guy.  Have I ever said what I do for a living?  I mean besides singing in the St. Victoria Choir, writing for the Gazette, doing my best to be a Good Grandpa?”

Aw Shucks! by Thom Derr, Motorcycle Man.  “If you are fond of oysters, then oyster plucking and shucking is finished until September.  Fresh oysters are only to be consumed during months that have an ‘r’ in their names.”

A Cowboy’s Day by Sue Orsen.  “It’s become an annual event, a spring thing, a birthday party, and Cowboy tom invites family and friends over to his home to enjoy a spread of food and a little brew.”

A Golfer’s Day by Michelle McNallan.  “The Monday after the Masters is a charity golf event held this year on April 15th at North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  Pat and I had full access to all the golf professionals as well as the celebrity golfers.”

A Musical Day by Sue Orsen.  “Pat and Michelle held a jamming’ gathering on April 21st at their home in Chanhassen.  Daughter Kierra, 4, is also accustomed to the mic and musical scene.”

A Mother’s Day by Sue Orsen.  “Another young person at the mic that evening was Meggan Payne, daughter of Patrick and Lisa Pay, all closely connected in one way or another to the St. Victoria Choir.”

Golf Club Personality by Tom Abts, Deer Run Golf Pro.  “The Prep scene is still alive with their style of dress and other expressions of their  taste, but not nearly as distinct as it once was.”

The Weather Vane by Lucas Graunke, Budding Climatologist.  “Winter in Minnesota seemed to last forever this year.  Compared to last year, this has been crazy.  We hardly had any snow in November, just one storm in December, and then the snow just kept coming.”

A Good Tax “Loophole” by Randy Maluchnik, Carver County Commissioner.  “Many local infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and schools are funded by tax free government bonds.  Eliminating or even capping the tax exemption on investors would cause them to look for higher yielding investments.”

Scholarship Winners Named by Deb McMillan, SW Metro Chamber of Commerce.  “Our scholarships are unique in that they are awarded to students without regard to athletic or academic accomplishments but rather to those showing a great generosity of spirit.”

Telling the Masses and the Gov About the Lakes in Victoria by Mike Wartman, Former Resident of Victoria.  “It may be wise to switch the Gov’s Opener to Victoria and let the masses fish Victoria’s lakes.”

That Was The Winter That Was by Sue Orsen/The Victoria Gazette.  “Was the evening blizzard of Monday, April 22nd, the caboose of the 2013 snow train?  Was it winter’s last gasp?  We’ve already broken previous records for snowfall in the month of April.”  Click on Front Page.

Scrap Metal is Just Heavenly by Gina Eaton, Waterbrooke Fellowship.  “For the past four years, volunteers from Waterbrooke have been answering the high calling to ‘get rid of this junk’ in the southwest metro area and beyond.”
