GAZETTE

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  Thank you for posting Hayden's story in your May issue of the Gazette.  Could you please send me a pdf of the print copy?  Thank you very much.

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  We continue to enjoy and look forward each month to receiving the Gazette.  You do a marvelous job and it's such a joy to read a newspaper that contains a positive theme.

In the May edition we related to your "From the Editor" column and the delight of both being around the house now that Allan's retired.  We are approaching the first anniversary of just such a lifestyle and consider it a great chapter of life.  It doesn't take long to adjust and we love having the time to spoil our grandsons, Owen now three years old and Jack who is nine months old.  We enjoyed reading about the retirement celebration for Allan.  A great tribute for obviously a dedicated career and job well done.  Congratulations, Al.  Look forward to seeing you both one of these days.

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  I've been waiting to see when you were going to hide the fishhook in Addie's cute drawing and Wah-la! there it was on page 5.  Only took once through to find it.  Love the Gazette.

Can you put this item in the paper?  The Chaska Community American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be held at the Chaska VFW on Monday, June 25th, from 12 noon to 6 p.m.  Walk-ins are welcome.  To make an appointment call me at 952-448-3815.  Thank you.

To the Editor:

Happy Dad's Day to all the dads.  What will it be this year?  Golf clubs?  New tools?  New recliner chair?  New TV?  Air conditioner?  A vacation to the Bahamas?

What to fix for a Dad's Day meal?  BBQ steaks, burgers, corn on the cob, potato salad or, hmmm, take Dad out for chow and let someone else wash the dishes.   If Dad isn't around, take Grandpa.  Four of my seven brothers are dads.  Still one grandkid left to graduate high school and then they're all done with high school.  I can still picture all those big kids as toddlers.

Looks like Addie Sue and Grandpa Al are heading out to Lake Orsen on page 5 to catch a few sunnies, since they've already got a fishhook.  They can bury the fish guts in Grandma Sue's flowers.  Good fertilizer.  My mom always did that and she put large rocks over the ground then to keep the neighborhood kitties away.

To the Editor:

I just have to tell you, that your editorial about asking Allan what to write about, must give all who read it a good chuckle.  And Addie does very nice drawings.  There's even a fishhook hiding in this last one!  Keep up the good work.
