Victoria Gazette - Hook Line & Sinker Column

There were at least five Christmas wreaths in the December 2016 issue of the Gazette. Only one of them, the wreath on page 36, contained a fishhook. Not too many of you found the fishhook hanging among its swirled branches, but there were enough of you to make it a drawing.

When I reached in, I pulled out Susan Bonthius of Excelsior. Actually, when I search Google Earth, I see that Susan Bonthius is a resident of Victoria on Smithtown Road. Congratulations, Susan. Your $10 prize money will be with you soon.

Only a few Victoria residents have addresses other than Victoria, MN 55386. They include some on the north side of Victoria that have the Excelsior zipcode 55331, and some on the south side of Victoria that have the Chaska zipcode 55318. Such is life -- not orderly nor appropriate in my opinion but, nonetheless, it's the way things are. My questions is, why don't any Excelsior and Chaska residents have Victoria addresses?
