To the Editor: Hi, Sue. As you know, librarian Kathy Perschmann, who did newspaper columns and publicity for our libraries, retired on November 30th. She leaves a big gap to fill. For now, I am the person who will be sending our Victoria Library programs and information to you for the Victoria Gazette. Please let me know if you need something done differently than how I am sending it. I am attaching the library programs for your January issue. This is also a good opportunity for me to thank you on behalf of the library for printing these programs and for helping make the Victoria Library a successful part of the community. Best wishes for the New Year. Kathy Bognanni Carver County Library System
To the Editor: The wreath on page 36 of the November Gazette looks a little different than the one on page 37. Could be because there is a fishhook in it. Great article on the Victoria Lions. Joyce Burau Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Just checked and noted we are 50 degrees warmer here in Edinburg, Texas, than our friends and family in Victoria. About to sit down to black eye peas and cornbread to celebrate New Year's, and wanted to wish you a Happy New Year and send a picture of our southwestern sky. Paul and Lee Anne Wild Edinburg, Texas
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Thank you for serving the community. May you have a blessed Christmas and a joy-filled New Year. Pastor Kevin Dibbley, Waterbrooke Church Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Our family would like to thank you for the obituary in the recent Victoria Gazette for my father, Jerry Gross. We were so lucky our path landed us in Victoria years ago. We have fond memories of living there. Would it be possible to get a copy of the obituary so I could send it electronically to out-of-town relatives? We wish you and your family a Merry Christmas. I know this Christmas many of our conversations will involve Victoria and times past. Thank you from all of us. Tami Wenthold (and the Jerry Gross family) Belle Plaine, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. I don't know if you take suggestions on story lines, but I'm sending you a link that rolled across my Facebook feed and maybe someone in town would read it and offer some other help to this family. The little girl, Maddison Mertz, is a year ahead of my daughter at Victoria Elementary School. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme Cancer on November 18th. It is a very rare and difficult to treat cancer. Many of the ideas on how to better help Maddison will not be covered by insurance. Maybe the Gazette could help spread the word. Derek Gunderson Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Your paper is the connection for the people of Victoria. Happy New Year. Tom Abts, Deer Run Golf Course Victoria, Minnesota
