I believe this is the first year in my lifetime that the fragrance of lutefisk has not wafted in my direction during the Christmas holidays from somewhere, including my very own kitchen.  It seems like there was much less time between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year and lutefisk got left out.  Same with blood sausage.  When I talked to Dad on the phone last week, Mom was frying blood sausage.  Made my mouth water.  I will have to bring some of those delicacies back into my life in 2016.  Happy New Year to me and my palette.

And Happy New Year to all of you good people who found the fishhook hidden in the December issue of the Gazette.  It was hiding in the spaghetti sauce ladle held on page 29 by Victoria Lion Tim Sebenaler.  Lion Tim, and several other Lions,  were working at the first annual Lions Spaghetti Feed.

When I dipped into the minnow bucket and swished around a little, I pulled out  Michael Ditsch of Watertown.  Congratulations, Michael.  Your $10 prize will be sent to you in short order, and I don't mean like from a short order cook, although I do prepare a lot of fast simple food, including spaghetti.  Doesn't this picture make you hungry for spaghetti and meatballs?

There's another fishhook hidden in this brand new issue of the brand new year.  If you find it, and want to be included in the next drawing, email Sue@VictoriaGazette.com telling of its location or drop a line to P.O. Box 387 and sinker in the mail.  And if I get a chance to make some lutefisk while it's still in season, I'll let you know.  My mouth is watering again.
