To the Editor:

Fish ahoy!  Lent starts February 13th.  Come on down to Talheim Apartments in Chaska on Fridays for a $3.75 fish lunch, coffee, and dessert, or have it sent to your house.  Call 448-9303 two days ahead and ask for Meals on Wheels.  Coffee is served at the dining site but not delivered to homes.  There's no tax or tip or coupon needed.

That money tree on page 24 in the January issue of the Gazette will get some fishy fertilizer, which will really make the money tree blossom, maybe with the $100 bills.  The fishhook is on the tree trunk in the Catholic Aid ad.

When Mom was cooking a Swiss Steak dinner at the Legion in Chaska, she'd make about 30 apple pies from scratch.  An oldtimer Bill Laumann traded a meal of sunnies for a pie.  Mom liked fish and she didn't mind cleaning them and she enjoyed the fish guts for fertilizing the flowers.  She was a farm kid.  She had a quote:  "Regard work as pleasure and you can have a good time."

Mom passed away 22 years ago, on February 17th, 1991.  She was 63, diagnosed with lung cancer in September of 1990 and gone five months later.

To the Editor:

It's commonly believed that larval zebra mussels aren't present in the winter.  The DNR will be taking and analyzing samples from zebra mussel infested lakes between January and March, and the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District will provide the samples from six sites on Lake Minnetonka.

Hi, Sue.  I'm getting an ad to you on Monday.  We have many new Victoria families.  Our P.E. teacher Tom Becker and his wife and son also live in Victoria.  Fun!  Gotta love Victoria.  Blessings.

To the Editor:

The family of Vangie Schneider would like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for the outpouring of compassion and generosity during our mother's illness and after her passing.  The sense of community and togetherness runs deep, be it in places of worship, neighborhoods, and neighboring towns.  We were touched by the love and affection in our time of celebration and sorrow.  Special thanks to doctors, nurses, and staff at Ridgeview Medical Center.

To the Editor:

How can I purchase a photograph  from the November issue of the Gazette?  One Halloween picture on page 18 and another on page 19 of the two beautiful witches.  I would like to give them to the three families.  Let me know what I should do.  Thank you so much.  Obviously these are some of my children, grandchildren, and my friend and myself as witches.

To the Editor:

Our cooking class has a menu perfect for Valentine's Day or anytime:  ravishing roasted strawberry starter, amorous arugula asparagus salad, seductive sesame shrimp with passion sauce, frisky fruit rolls with duet sauces.  These foods all have love enhancing qualities.  The demonstration includes lot of tasting.
