The Victoria

GAZETTE

October 2012

Barn Quilt. The quilt was constructed in June 2012 and featured in the July 2012 issue of the Gazette along with Loane and Joyce Burau of Victoria.  It was finally hung in September and it's quite a picturesque site if you glance (quickly) to your left as you travel east down Hwy 5.  It's located on the "Kerber Farm" just east of the "Apple Farm,"

Men Invested.  These men in safety vests were going over the punch list on the Hwy 5 construction project and checking the huge manhole at the junction of Hwy 5 and Stieger Lake Lane on Thursday, September 13th.  Left to right:  Ken Slama (MnDOT Project Engineer), Matt Schroeder (Chief Inspector for MnDOT), Mark Gillard (Project Supervisor with S.M. Hentges), Scott Meyers (Grade Foreman with S.M. Hentges), and Rick Reichstedt (MnDOT Inspector).

Larson Cole, left, and Jack Wormuth were thrilled with the newly surfaced tennis court in Deer Run on Sunday, September 9th.  Both boys live in Victoria and play tennis for the Chanhassen High School tennis team.  The resurfacing took place the first week in September, 2012.  Dermco-Leving did the project for $6,000 and the funds came from the Parks General Fund in the City of Victoria.  This court is located at the intersection of Ridge Ponds Drive and Ridge Ponds Court.

60-Year Member. Mound Masonic Lodge #320 recently honored some of its members for reaching certain years of membership.  The members were honored with a pheasant dinner, and each received a certificate and lapel pin representing their number of years of membership.  Although only 3 out of 12 that were eligible were able to attend the proceedings, everyone present had a great meal and a good time.

Those presenting and receiving members (l-r):  District Rep. Andrew Brennan, William Beery (65 years), Michael Johnson (25 years), Ronald Holtmeier of Victoria (60 years), and Master Terry Rybarczyk.
