Front-end organizers were Holly and three BDC people -- Lani Basa, Randy Miller, and Erica Vermeij. Randy is president of the Victoria Business Owners Association. There was no cost for vendors to participate in Discover Victoria Day. Reported Holly, "They gave away 400 ice cream treats (but Don had two of them) and we gave away over 250 prizes in the Hwy 5 room. Our estimate is that there were around 300 to 400 people, including little ones. We did have some crossover from people attending the hockey camps." Holly was referring to Victoria City Administrator Don Uram, who worked that day at a city table near the Victoria Express Library, located near the foyer of the Victoria Recreation Center and near the doors leading to the ice cream truck.
