GAZETTE

November 2012

To the Editor:

Thank you for the Gazette, Sue.  I look forward to receiving it and appreciate you and your hard work.  Happy autumn.

To the Editor:

It was good to see you in Waconia on Thursday.  About the group photo you took of us, most of the group are members of AOA's of the Chaska Community Center/Lodge.  AOA stands for Active Older Adults.  It was a fun day for all, with such a great speaker discussing how not to be afraid as we go down the path of aging.  Such a good message for society at large.  Thanks for taking the photo.

To the Editor:

From 2000 to 2007, I had the honor of serving on the Victoria City Council.  During that time, Gordy Simanton served on the Victoria Planning Commission plus one year as an appointed City Councilmember.

I learned a great deal about this man and can assure you that if you vote for him and he is elected, you will not regret your decision.  I found Gordy to be dedicated to the City of Victoria, very hardworking, knowledgeable, and prepared to tackle the issues that came before him.  He is pleasant in his demeanor and takes the time to truly listen to those individuals with concerns.

Gordy has a proven track record over many years involving many issues.  In these difficult times, his service to Victoria has been and will continue to be a blessing.

To the Editor:

I'm writing to express my support and endorsement of Gordy Simanton for Victoria City Council.  As an elected public official, I'm constantly observing the manner in which people in positions of leadership influence those whom they serve.  I've watched Gordy for more than a dozen years and he always exhibits respectful attention to others and sound logic in formulating his position on issues

His commitment to the people of Victoria as demonstrated by his lengthy experience on the Planning Commission and City Council has equipped him to further his servant leadership as City Councilmember.

Gordy has the capacity to serve, the energy to engage, and the integrity to be a trusted guardian of Victoria's prosperous future.

To the Editor:

As you are aware, Tom O'Connor is running for Mayor of Victoria.  As the election draws near, I'm trying to get people to take a closer look at Mr. O'Connor and understand why he is the only choice that makes sense for the citizens of Victoria.

Having served on the city's Finance Committee for over three years, I've learned firsthand that Tom has the essential  qualifications to lead Victoria into the future.  Due to the size of our community, the City in many instances operates a great deal like a family business.  Tom's belief in fiscal discipline coupled with a patriarchal approach is a formula that will work well in ensuring that citizens of Victoria are served in a manner commensurate with their core values.

Second, given the fact that Tom has served in the Armed Forces and has held executive level positions in large corporations, he possesses the ability to see how the City needs to be adaptive to change.

Finally, as a city councilmember assigned to a term on the Finance Committee, Tom has gained an intimate knowledge of the City's financial position, which gives him a unique advantage in shepherding some of the community's most valuable resources.

These are just some of the reasons I am offering my unwavering support of Tom O'Connor in his campaign for Mayor and I'd like to see residents of Victoria do the same.   Please feel free to call on me and I'll be glad to share additional information about Tom, as well as facts about the issues that make this election so important.

Thank you for your time, and I hope the people who enjoy your circulation will join me in backing Tom O'Connor
