Fire Department Feeds and InForms by Sue Orsen  “The annual Open House at the Victoria Fire Station was held this year on a cold and windy Saturday, but it was well attended, the food was warm and tasty, the hot chocolate was hot, and there were exhibits and people ready to answer questions and pass on information.”

Orange Marmalade by Chuck Freiberg, Up North Cabin Guy.  “My father knows I like orange marmalade so over the past few months, whenever he’d gone out for breakfast, he took some of the small orange marmalade packages, wrapped them up, and gave them to me as my birthday present.”

What Were They Thinking! by Thom Derr.  “Recently one of our basketball stars, who makes several million, broke three fingers doing knuckle pushups.  What was he thinking!”

Victoria Lions and Their Premier XCountry Meet by Victoria Lion Kurt Zuppke.  “Perfect would be an understate-ment for the weather conditions on October 2nd.  This year 1,600 runners were attending.”

Hand in Hand by Kathe Matthews, Carver County Poet.  “This poem was inspired when my young son would slip his hand into mine as we walked.”

Raspberry Bocce Tourney Champions by Tommy Hutton, Victoria, MN.  “This tourney has been held annually since 1979.  In Victoria it has moved from a summer to a fall event.”

 

K.J. McDonald, 81 died at his home on October 4th, 2012.

Reuben Kirsch, 83 died at home on September 2th, 2012.
