Chloe Elizabeth Mowery was born Monday, April 4th, weighing 8 lb. 1 oz. at 21 inches long. Mom, Dad, Chloe, and Chloe's sister Caroline are all doing well. The remarkable artwork at Fresh Seasons Market in Victoria comes from 122 children who entered the coloring contest to win the Huge Easter Basket. The winner was Nicole Roper, age 6, of Victoria, pictured with Dale Riley, owner of Fresh Seasons. Other prizes were distributed to all the entrants. Rick Stucki Victoria, Minnesota
Married 50 Years. Ron and Karin Waits, residents on Pierson Lake, invite you to the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 11th, 2011, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in The Lodge and the Chaska Community Center. Your presence will be our gift. ~Ron and Karin Ron is originally from the Mojave Desert area of Southern California. Karin is from Mora, Minnesota. They met in Minneapolis in 1960. Ron is a graduate of Antelope Valley College and Fresno State University. Karin graduated from Swedish Hospital School of Nursing and worked there two years until they married on May 27th, 1961. They settled in Ogilvie where Ron taught 5th and 6th grades for two years. The couple then moved to Victoria, Minnesota, for two years and lived in the Nordberg house that has since become the city parking lot behind the Victoria House restaurant. Ron taught at Southview Elementary School in Waconia. Karin worked at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. They bought lakeshore property on Pierson Lake in 1965 and have lived there ever since. Ron eventually went into business for himself and Karin stayed at Ridgeview Medical Center for 31 years! They've had four schnauzers, and Charles Dickens is still with them.
Owen and his Whopper Bluegills. Forty-five minutes of standing in a downpour rain, at a pond close to Grandpa's house in Victoria, produced this stringer of whopper bluegills and one crappie for Owen Hawley last Saturday morning (April 30th). Owen took them home, cleaned them with Dad, and ate them for dinner. Grandpa Chuck Freiberg Victoria, Minnesota
