THE CADETTE GIRL SCOUTS FROM TGROOP 12813.  In front, Sophia Strelnieks.  That's her little sister Rachel Strelnieks (a Daisy Girl Scout) behind her.  Standing in back (l-r):  Rachel Anderson, Sydney Weinandt, Kenzie Bins, and Alyssa Owens.

The girls thought it was cool that they got to be part of this historical event, the Ribbon Cutting and Opening of the new Victoria City Hall.  They felt important being involved during different aspects of the event.  The girls remember when we used to have our monthly meetings in the old City Hall from the time they were in kindergarten through around 3rd grade.  They remember it being cold and dark.  They recall the back hallway leading to the restroom as being scary since it was so dark and there were no windows.  Now the new building is nice and bright and has a lot of natural lighting.

I think the new building turned out beautiful.  The Council Chambers has a much warmer, brighter look and feeling.  It's something that the City Council can be very proud of.  I remember there being talk of needing a new City Hall ever since we moved to Victoria nearly ten years ago.  That time has finally come.  The new building really adds beauty to the landscape of downtown Victoria.  I'm excited for the new Victoria Library to open up in March.

HAPPY 60TH, RANDY.    Carver County Randy Maluchnik celebrated his 60th birthday at the Legion Club in downtown Chaska on Saturday, February 7th.  Seated above next to his wife Suzette, they provided delicious brats, beans, and beer for a large crowd of family and friends who came to help celebrate on Saturday night.  A few of us got in on a picture.  Thank you, Randy and Suzette, for your hospitality.  ~Editor Sue Orsen, Victoria, Minnesota

MOUNT OLIVET held its 7th Motorheads Winter Event on Tuesday, February 27th, at Warren Herreid's home in Minnetrista.  Warren is a member of Mount Olivet.  Over 250 people attended the event that included interesting exhibitor displays, amazing cars, and devotions.  Yes, Motorheads love engines and the Lord.  It's a powerful combinaion!  All of the photos were taken by Peter Stratmoen.  Peter is a member of Mount Olivet.

There were eleven cars in this event.  They were displayed in Warren's amazing underground garage complex.  The cars are from Warren's personal collection and from his friends.  Most of the cars arrived via trailer.  Associate Pastor Kurt Kalland is the leader of the Motorheads group.  The other pastors also like cars.  Senior Pastor John Hogenson gave a greeting to the group and closed with a prayer after devotions by Associate Pastor Stephen Cornils.  All of the speakers tied in references to wheels and vehicles in the Bible and God's care for our safety.
