We didn't go fishing when we were in the ice house out on Lake Sakakawea just outside Tioga, North Dakota.  The holes were frozen shut again and, just like here in Victoria at the Ice Fishing Contest, the ice grew to three feet deep and it's a big deal to keep them open.  So Jenny and I played Hiss and Connect Four while Chris and Allan prepared the house to be pulled off the lake.  After all, when it's the end of February, can spring be far behind?

No matter the freeze of the deep or the season of the year, there is a fishhook hidden in each and every issue of the Gazette.    And each month there is a drawing from the minnow bucket, in which all the entries are placed after I receive them.  This month little Olivia Crowley of Victoria wins the $10.  The fishhook was hidden in the photo of the Orchid Tree on page 40 in the February.  Congratulations, Olivia.  Your winnings will be on the way to you shortly!

There is another fishhook hidden in this issue of the Gazette.  If you find it and wish to be included in the next drawing, email Sue@VictoriaGazette.com and tell me where you found it, or drop a line to P.O. Box 387, Victoria, MN 55386 and sinker in the mail.  When I go fishing in the minnow bucket next time, it will be officially spring.  It's good to be official, but it's better to be warm!
