FIELD OF IRIS.  Talented members of the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum Auxiliary have lovingly stitched a stunning quilt for the organization's annual Quilt Raffle.  The machine-stitched creation is called "Field of Iris" and depicts the namesake flower in amazing detail.  Measuring 70 by 80 inches, the quilt fits a queen size or double bed.  The quilt will be raffled off at a drawing in September at the Arboretum.  "Field of Iris" was sewn by the Auxiliary's Contemporary Quilters group.  All proceeds from the quilt raffle and Harvest Sale benefit the Arboretum.  Each year the Auxiliary contributes thousands of dollars to the Arboretum.

MAY POLE DANCE.  This is a photo taken here at Westview Acres in Waconia showing some preschoolers doing a May Pole dance for us.  Harriet and I are in the center, facing the camera.  The teacher on the left is Mrs. Weber from Victoria.  She is a great teacher and Trinity School certainly is lucky to have her as a teacher.

THE BOLL SISTERS.  The Boll sisters, all former Victoria residents, were together in April 2015 in North Carolina for the wedding of nephew Joseph Hjelt and Sara Thompson.

L-r: Kate Medina (Colorado), Jacqui Fox (California), Mickey Hjelt (North Carolina, mother of the groom), Jean Malley (North Carolilna, standing in for her mom Carol Sabol who was unable to attend), Nancy Lind (Tennessee), and Rosie Williams (Victoria).

Jean and Jared Malley and their children hosted a delicious Easter dinner at their home.  We had a great time with family and friends.  Also attending were Erik's sister from Sweden and the groom's cousins from Minnesota, Massachusetts, and Colorado.  Erik Hjelt is the father of the groom.

LUNCH AT WESTVIEW.  I was invited by Ron and Harriet Holtmeier, left, to have lunch with them at Westview Acres in Waconia on May 18th, along with Wilfy Plocher and Cecelia "Nonnie" Fier.  Ron's roots are old Victoria; his dad worked at the Victoria State Bank.  Wilfy said that between himself and his dad, E.B. Plocher, they managed Victoria Lumber for 67 years.  There are many other former residents of Victoria who now live at Westview.  Nonnie hails from my hometown area in southwest Minnesota and is a sister to my Aunt Doris Claeys.  The world continues to get smaller.  Thank you for the lunch, Ron.
