*Stated Mayor Thun, "I am increasingly worried that this council is falling behind" because of the paper council packets and other technology not being used by city councilmembers at city council meetings. She asked Mr. Uram to get the discussion of ipads "or whatever" onto the council's agenda. "I'd like us to get with the next century," she said. Replied Tom Strigel, "Actually, it would be the current century."

*Mayor Thun reported that the MCWD did a day long tour in Victoria. "It was really an opportunity for them to see what's going on in Victoria," she said.

* Council approved a raffle permit and temporary liquor license for the St. Victoria Catholic Church and their Sunset Fest on August 25th.

* Council approved a modification to the Vision and Mission Statement of the BDC so the focus is shifted to engage both the residential and business community.

* Council approved the hiring of Morgan Frye, Hannah Anderson, and Shelby Tuseth for summer positions at the Recreation Department.

* Council received the LMCD levy for 2013 which is proposed to be 2.6% higher than the levy for 2012. Victoria's share would be $20,526 which is an increase of $426 over 2012.
