JOE PAVELKO RESIGNS FROM COUNCIL

RELOCATING FROM VICTORIA FOR FAMILY NEEDS

The first thing City Manager Laurie Hokkanen reported after the City Council meeting was called to order on the evening of June 22nd was that Joe Pavelko would no longer be on the Council.  “Joe Pavelko has essentially resigned," said Laurie.  "The notice came in at 2:30 today."  She then read a letter from him, addressed to the Residents of Victoria, which stated he had lived six years in Victoria and will be relocating.  The gist of the letter was that it is the residents that make Victoria great.  His words of advice:  "Stay engaged."

KEEP SUPPORTING VICTORIA’S MARKET

HATS OFF TO THE NEW BUSINESS OWNERS

On Monday, June 22nd, Tom Wartman read a statement in regard to Victoria's Market (formerly Fresh Seasons Market) and the union picketers who have surrounded the store since opening on May 4th, 2015.  Asked Councilmember Jim Crowley, "How does this come to a resolution?"  Replied Mr. Wartman, "The Union has a right to be on the sidewalk.  If it discourages residents, the Union wins.  The store is open and they'd like to be part of the community.  The Union's goal is to try and personally go after me.  But companies do go out of business."
