GAZETTE

To the Editor:

I enjoyed your article on Florian Diethelm.  In fact, I printed it and gave it to author Tom Rockvam who does historical pieces.  You are a great writer and I hope to follow more of your pieces.

Yes, it’s my real name for 68 years.  Born in Carroll, Iowa.

         Flossie Finnicum

         Mound, Minnesota

To the Editor:

How can I get copies of the article written by my sister Jan Olinger, about the Fredrickson Brothers Baseball team that appeared in the May issue of your paper?  I am willing to pay for the copies.  If I could get ten copies, I would greatly appreciate it.  I will gladly pay for the postage and any other related costs.

         Ted Fredrickson

         Cottage Grove, Minnesota

To the Editor:

My name is Anne and I’m with the Builders’ Association of the Twin Cities.  I’m currently in the process of updating our Parade of Homes press list, and I would like to verify the information that I have on file for you and the Victoria Gazette.  Also, would you like to be sent statistic releases on the Twin Cities housing market?

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  Senator Julianne Ortman is working on an end-of-session wrap-up for 2010, and she’s considering sending it out as an insert in the local newspapers.  Do you have the information on the distribution number for the Victoria Gazette, and what the cost would be to include an insert?  I look forward to hearing from you.  Thanks so much.

         Jamie Yost, Legislative Assistant

         St. Paul, Minnesota

To the Editor:

Thank you very much for the photo of Sheriff Bud Olson and Deputy Robert Vandenbroecke.  It’s a small world.  I’ll credit the Gazette.

To the Editor:

Memorial Day was Gnat Day.  I barely got out the front door of the apartment and I’m snacked on by gnats.  I’m maneuvering the joystick on my power chair and chasing gnats trying to keep them out of my ears and nose.  No wasps where I was that afternoon, but those gnats -- what brats!  I probably looked like a thug making gang symbols waving my hand at the gnats flying at my face and, yes, I got sunburned too.

I first felt my sunburn about midnight, trying to sleep.  A look into the mirror said it all -- summer’s here!  That’s one buggy bug on page 26 in the June Gazette with a fishhook stuck in it.  I wonder if he or she will be Father Conran’s fishing buddy since it’s big enough for bait.

Guess who’s 45 on July 24th.  I’m catching up to my neighbors here at Talheim.  I was the youngest thirteen years ago when I moved in.  Now the youngest is 42.  Happy birthday to my step mom, with a July 1st birthday, and my nephew Eugene on July 2nd.

On the 4th of July I’ll be on the 5th floor balcony here, looking south and east, watching the fireworks going off at Valley Fair, Eden Prairie, Mystic Lake, and listening to the nighthawks.   There wasn’t a bug on the balcony last year.
