To the Editor:

On behalf of Father Elstan Coghill’s family, I would like to thank the gracious community of Victoria and the St. Victoria  Parish for being a part of his family as well.  Father considered Victoria his official home and requested the final resting place of his physical body to be at the St. Victoria Cemetery.

As a family we had the privilege of remaining close to Father Elstan in a variety of ways, including updates, pictures, and articles in the Victoria Gazette over the years.  We will miss him greatly and at the same time will be forever grateful for the hospitality and love shown him over the years.

To the Editor:

Hope you had a happy Fourth of July.  I found the fishhook on page 20 in the Excelsior Crazy Days ad.  I enjoy the Gazette very much.  Keep up the good work.

To the Editor:

I am leaving St. Boniface Catholic Church in St. Bonifacius, and the new priest’s name is Fr. Thomas Balluff.  I am sure he will appreciate receiving the Gazette as much as I have.

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  How lucky we are to have someone like you around to put this paper together for all of us to read.  It is so interesting.  Keep it going.

Sure liked to read your concern and story on the traffic conditions on Highway 5.  I do not like that highway.  Always wanted to know how Victoria liked it going through their little town.  A very dangerous road.

Found the fishhook on page 20 in the roof of the Excelsior Crazy Days ad.

To the Editor:

I am leaving the office of Senator Norm Coleman effective July 1st, 2008, as I have accepted the position of communications director for the Senator John McCain for President campaign for the North Mountain Regional Headquarters, including the states of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho.  It has been an honor and privilege to serve as Norm’s communication director and I am grateful for the opportunity he gave me.

I enjoyed your piano playing earlier this year at the combined choir concert at St. Hubert’s in Chanhassen, with the St. Victoria Choir and Holy Family Choir.  Our daughter attends Holy Family Catholic High School in Victoria.  I enjoy reading the Victoria Gazette.  Keep it coming.

To the Editor:

Thank you for your willingness to allow us to use your photos from the June 2008 issue of the Gazette to promote safety improvements to  Highway 5.  I’m not having much luck copying your photos from the online Gazette and I need high resolution photos.  Can you send me the seven photos that were featured as .jpg or .tif files?

To the Editor:

Is there an extra copy of the July issue available?  My realtor suggested I have one to look at on my counter, and I am afraid mine went into the recycle center.  I just went and looked and can’t find it.  If there is, could you mail it to me?  Feel free to bill me for it if you need to.  When will the August issue come out?

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  I was finally successful in locating the fishhook in the Excelsior Crazy Days ad on the tent on page 20.  With the heat today I couldn’t be outside much so had time to look for it.

I love your paper each month, as I do my Chaska paper weekly.  Keep on plugging along with the news and also your music at St. Victoria.

         Love, Bernice Barris
