Text Box: Victoria Auto Werks opened its doors in Victoria in October, 2007, and even before you step inside you can tell that Steve Frankwitz takes pride in the business. Located in the former C.W. Auto Repair building, the exterior has new paint and facade while the interior customer area now looks more like a fine lounge. Fresh paint, leather furniture, bar stools, coffee table and coffee pot are inviting to anyone waiting for an oil change. “We’ve done a lot of remodeling,” said Steve. “We want all clients to feel welcome to come in for a cup of coffee and read a magazine while waiting for their service. I love catering to people in town.” Steve said he does repair work on “anything that comes in the door,” and that he specializes in European car repair, especially Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, Audi, and Land Rovers. His 24-year background in the business includes ten years at Amoco in Wayzata and seven years with Land Rover SUV’s in Eden Prairie. In addition to automotive repair, Steve does boat winterizing, trailer rentals, and loaner cars. “But I am not in sales, only in automotive repair of cars,” he said. “I am open six days a week here in Victoria, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. or by appointment. I’m not open until late on Saturday because my family comes first,” he said. Steve and his wife Colleen and their children Andrew, 9, and Ashley, 6, live in Chanhassen. The Woodies. On Sunday, June 29th, the Chaska CC United U12C1 Girls Soccer Team defeated the U12 Girls Northern Lights Soccer Club for 1st Place in the Lake Superior Open in Duluth, Minnesota. Eight gymnasts from the Classic AAU gymnastics team traveled to Orlando, Florida, to compete in the national competition. The meet took place on July 2nd and 3rd at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex. The girls competed against other gymnasts from several states and did an awesome job.
