Mall Madness

by Jesse Coghill
Farmer poet from Jordan

To visit the mall
On Sunday afternoon
You gotta be crazy
As a cartoon loon.
I sit on a bench
Watching the show
As people come
And people go,
Nationalities
From all localities,
The fat, the lean,
The in-between,
The young, the old,
The shy, the bold,
Little children
Getting lost,
Candy wrappers
Getting tossed.
Henpecked husbands
Getting bossed,
The short, the tall,
They're at the mall.
I can't take this
More than once
Or twice a year.
Here comes the missus,
I'm outta here!
