Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:
I'm with you and your last editorial, Sue, when it comes to being upset with people passing you off and not caring.  I had a problem with AT&T and Sprint, each directing me to the other an over-charge.
I once said to a person, "I'm trying to be nice but I'm getting upset," and she could tell from my voice that she had better do something.
Keep working against injustice!
Rosie Williams, Victoria, Minnesota

To the Editor:
I really liked the write-up for our ad in the Business Review Section of the Gazette.  It turned out great.
I found the fishhook on page 21 in the Leipold's kerosene lamp ad.  Very clever.

To the Editor:
Thank you, everyone, for coming down to our pork and kraut supper in January at the Chaska Legion, and thank you to the Legion for taking time to give us the opportunity for us at Talheim to enjoy the dinner as well.  It was a good rib-sticking meal and felt great in these cold days.  We always look forward to those terrific dinners.  Schmect gut!  On a "lighter" side, the fishhook is in the kerosene light in Leipold's ad on page 21.
Kay Meuwissen, Chaska, Minnesota

To the Editor:
We would like to thank all the good people who offered prayers, sent cards, food, etc., or helped us in any way while we were both ill.  Special thanks to Father Conran Schneider for his hospital visit and to the doctors and nurses.
Happy Valentine's Day to you, Sue, and to all the Gazette family.
Frank and Ethel Schneider, Shakopee, Minnesota

To the Editor:
What's the difference between a donkey and a postage stamp?  One you can lick with a stick, and the other you can stick with a lick.  I sort of laughed at this.  I'm going to send it to Father E.  He will love it.  Sue, I remember some of your quotes in issues gone by.  All of them are great.
Ovid Northrop, Victoria, Minnesota

To the Editor:
I was wondering if you could do an update story on the school situation.  Was anything ever resolved between the district and Victoria?  Will there be a charter school?  I haven't heard any-thing in a while and was just wonder-ing where we stood.

To the Editor:
The Victoria City Council strongly supports the application of Carol Vadnais to the Carver County Library Board.  Ms. Vadnais is a Victoria resi-dent who will serve our community and the entire county with distinction.
Ms. Vadnais has been involved in writing monthly articles for The Victoria Gazette.  These stories high-light women and men of great character from American history in an attempt to raise awareness of what can be accom-plished in our society.
These uplifting articles have been a source of inspiration to our residents and all readers alike.  Her ability to raise awareness and challenge people to strive for more will reflect in a better Library Board.
The Victoria City Council asks for favorable consideration to the applica-tion of Ms Vadnais.  Although the City of Victoria does not have a county library, we feel that it is imperative that our residents have a voice in service delivery and future planning of the Carver County Library system.  Carol Vadnais will give not only our citizens, but all county residents, a strong voice for an improved library system.
Stephen T. Sarvi
City Administrator
Victoria, Minnesota
