Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:
Thanks for the March Gazette, as usual.  For your information, in Tom Walsh's item on Victoria Fire Department History, dated March 4th, 1915 - instead of "F.M. Norberg," I think it should read, "T.M. Nordberg," as Teddy Nordberg (my grandfather) was a member of the Fire Department then and I don't recall hearing of any Norbergs.  Handwritten T's of the period often look like F's.
Best wishes.
Rod Nordberg, via e-mail

To the Editor:
I would like to thank the members of the School District #12 Boundary Committee for their time and hard work.  The success of this volunteer group is gauged in their commitment to involve the community in the process, as well as their efforts to keep parents and constituents well informed.
The process of moving boundaries is a notoriously painful endeavor usual-ly rewarded with complaints from un-happy parents.  This group would be well served by the District if the process they adhered to was preserved and used again in deciding future school debates.
I would be remiss not to mention that Victoria's own Mary Tjenstrom was among the volunteers who gave of her time to resolve our boundary issues.

To the Editor:
Your trip to Las Vegas gave me a wonderful laugh.  My daughter will scream.  Your story shortens a depressing time of year.  Laughs are good.  You are great.  The Gazette is great.  I never miss mailing your From the Editor to my daughter in Houston.  Just mailed Fr. E. a great joke.  I can see him smiling.  Thanks, Sue.
Ovid Northrop, Victoria, Minnesota

To the Editor:
Kudos on a great article about Gordon and Clara Diethelm.  What hoot to read about two people who exemplify life in the old Victoria era.  Gordon's description of the old Catholic grade school had me in stitches.  The discipline of the two nuns is oft times over exaggerated, but his nicknames brought back many fond memories of the people who are res-ponsible for the success that so many of us experience because of that discipline.  Perhaps there's a lesson here.

To the Editor:
Enclosed is my yearly check for your wonderful paper.  I usually have a hard time finding that fishhook, but, whoopie, there it showed up on the butcher from Mackenthun's of St. Boni on page 21.  Keep on putting out the good news from Victoria.
Bernice Barris, Chaska, Minnesota

To the Editor:
Especially enjoyed your articles in the March Gazette.  Good paper.

Enjoy your paper.  I love the quotes on the back page.  Keep it up.  We know a lot of the people you write about.  Here is my check for next year.

I just love your paper.  What a beautiful article about the Diethelm family.  I would love to hug every one of them.

To the Editor:
I have a lot of this white winter stuff in my yard but I am not worried.  I'm getting three gals to help me clean out - April, May, and June.  Ha, ha!
Florian Kerber, Chaska, Minnesota
