To the Editor:

Over the past few years, our car group has enjoyed the Wednesday night Victoria car shows.  The effort put forth by the guys in "yellow shirts" has been extraordinary.  I don't know all of their names, but their faces we recognize each time we come to the show.  We always feel very welcome.

Since the show started with just 30 to 40 cars, it has grown into more than 200 cars on most nights in 2014.  The success of the car show is due to the volunteers who showcase Victoria in such a way that draws in more cars and spectators for each show.

We enjoy the local businesses that have taken part in giving prizes and we support them while we are attending the shows.  The motto "Discover Victoria" is very fitting.  I think many people are discovering Victoria on Wednesday nights and keep coming back to enjoy more of what Victoria has to offer.

Thank you, guys and gals, for a great time.  Looking forward to 2015.

You do a good job on the paper.  The fishhook is on page 38 of the September issue, on the right arm of the little boy in the Swanson Insurance ad.

We hope this finds you enjoying the beautiful fall weather.  Attached is a news release for the Minnesota Softball Hall of Fame's 28th Induction Ceremony.  Because softball remains the number one adult team participation sport in Minnesota and the U.S., many of your readers will find the information of interest.  Thank you for any press you can provide.

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  Gettin' to be short-timers here in God's country so we probably wouldn't get the October Gazette at our Chaska address, so please change it back to Marana, AZ.  Thanks.  Keep up the good work.

To the Editor:

Yesterday, Thursday, September 18th, Harriet and I were out walking and a bi-plane flew over, heading east.  It was neat to see and it brought back memories to when I lived on the farm near Victoria (now part of Carver Park Reserve) during the 1940's when the Army Air Force would fly over in the bi-winged aircraft, most likely Stearmans.  They would practice dog fights high in the sky and sometimes they would buzz our house.  At that time their wings bore the star and a red circle in the middle.

To the Editor:

For three days in September, KleinBank celebrated Customer Appreciation Days with prizes, games, services, and special rates.  We were fortunate to have people stop by, have a hotdog, and allow us to thank them for their business.

This year we were lucky to have two esteemed guests grillers volunteer to help us serve our customers.  Randy Miller, President of the Victoria Business Association, and Aaron Roberts of Elavon Merchant Services volunteered to help us with the hotdogs.  Also, special thanks to Ann Mahnke and the City of Victoria for the picnic tables, and Shred Right for providing the complimentary shredding services.

We splurged and got Ambassador dogs from Mackenthun's of Waconia and they were very popular with our customers.

I'd like to thank the local businesses who contributed prizes for our local winners.  The businesses included Debbie Johnson's Soul Survivors Angels in Training, Tazzie Baby and Child, Victoria Rose Floral, Vic's Bar and Grill, Victoria House, Subway, Roulette's Pizza, Salon Spatoria, School of the Wise, Cabin Fever, Deardorff Orchards, Real Deals, and Enki Brewing.  Our customers love the interaction and excitement of the drawings and enjoy going to the local businesses.

Bank wide, we had winners of iPad minis, Nintendo 3DSXLs, Minnesota Twins Tickets, and Gift Cards.  Due to customer privacy, we can't divulge the names of the winners but everyone was pretty pleased with their prizes.  We want to thank everyone for their contributions and support.  We will continue to offer many amazing specials through the end of October.
