We were enjoying lunch at an ocean-side restaurant one day in Puerto Vallarta, seated in the shade as a breeze blew through sporadically with the waves.  We were on the second floor balcony of the restaurant and enjoyed the view in all directions.  Most of our attention focused on two fishermen who were trying to net fish from shore.  They walked into the ocean together, side by side, each holding an end of a long large net, walking as far out as they could go without tipping over, like up to their shoulders.  Then they fanned out in opposite directions and kept walking until the net had been stretched to its limit.  We watched them as they tread slowly to shore, keeping the net taut and slowly coming once more together.  When they reached the beach, they pulled in the net that remained in the water and spread their catch out over the sand.  We sat there long enough to watch two episodes of this ordeal.  Each time their catch was practically identical -- a big round blowfish that resembles a porcupine and a medium-size stingray, plus a couple of other nondescript fish.  They carried the blowfish and the stingray back into the deep, albeit gingerly, and sold the nondescripts to a guy from the restaurant.  Betcha we’ll never see fishing like that on Lake Minnetonka.

Hope we get out on Lake Minnetonka one or two more times this fall.  Cool is okay and color is cool but I’m not in a hurry for it.  Who is!!

Oh, yes, it was Carol York of Waconia who got pulled out of the minnow bucket to win the $10 drawing.  She found the fishhook hidden in the beads of the Weinzierl Jewelry ad on page 10 of the September issue of the Gazette.  Congratulations, Carol.

I hid another fishhook in this issue of the Gazette.  If you find it, drop a line to Sue@VictoriaGazette.com or P.O.Box 387 telling of its location and sinker to me.  Everybody swims together in the minnow bucket until drawing time just before the next edition is printed.   Good luck.
