To the Editor:

Would you write up some sort of letter of recommendation for an internship at the National Weather Service in Chanhassen?  Would you maybe tell them about me?  I’ve tried but I’m just a kid so could you maybe help me out?  Thanks.

To the Editor:

The Carver County Health Partnership, which is unique in the country for bringing together diverse organizations, community leaders, and everyday citizens to address critical community health issues, invites you to share our success and preview our future.

After creating the highly successful “Eat. Talk. Connect.” initiative and working to establish the first County Office of Aging in the State of Minnesota, CCHP is kicking off two new Action Teams designed to continue the momentum.

One new Action Team is focusing on Community Engagement -- creating and championing ways to promote full citizen engagement in the life of our communities as we experience rapid population growth across Carver County.

The new Youth Development Action Team will focus on expanding community capacity to support positive youth development, promote the voice of youth, and increase awareness of ways youth and their families can connect with resources to address health and wellness issues.

We need your support and involvement.  It will take all of us working together to create the kind of communities we want in Carver County.  The registration deadline for this event is Wednesday, November 12th.  To register go to www.ce4all.org and click on “register now” and then on special events.

To the Editor:

Hi.  I’m spending my lunch break reading through the Gazette.  I can’t wait to take it home.  I can do without the two pictures of me, but my kids will love seeing themselves in the picture at Kirke Lachen Park.  They are the three munchkins on the right in the front row -- Alexus, Oscar, and Ellie.  Thanks for all you do.

Thank you for the article in the October issue of the Gazette.  The boys and I appreciate it very much.

To the Editor:

In the past few days there has been a bold-faced move to obstruct my freedom of speech and expression.  I placed presidential and senatorial campaign signs in my yard last week.  The presidential sign was vandalized a few nights ago, and the senatorial sign stolen last night.

I am appalled and saddened by this behavior.  Regardless of political persuasion, everyone has the right to display their support for their favored candidate, whether it is in the form of a yard sign, a lapel button, or a bumper sticker on their car.  To have someone destroy my property because they do not agree with my political views is not only childish, but the antithesis of our American democratic values.

Our political process should be one of the most cherished aspects of our lives as Americans.  If you have a problem with the candidate(s) I support, do not take it out by destroying or stealing my property and treading on my freedoms.  Take it to the voting booth on Election Day.

The destruction and vandalism of political campaign signs take place every election season all over America.  For those with children, this presents a “teachable moment,” where parents can educate their children about the value of constructive political debate.  Adults who might engage in this type of behavior are just plain pathetic and need to grow up.

Most of us take our rights and responsibility for voting seriously.  I very carefully listen to the positions on all sides and then make my selection of the candidate I will support.  If this year I didn’t support the candidate you like, there’s always another election and new issues to consider.  Maybe we’ll agree on the best candidate next time.
