AT THE VP's DESK.  Bailey Forcier, daughter of Judy Forcier of Victoria and the late Tim Forcier, sits in the office of U. S. Vice President Mike Pence in Washington DC.  Bailey's lacrosse teammate's dad (Mark Paolette) is part of Pence's legal counsel and gave her a tour of the West Wing in the White House and the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.

         Bailey graduates this spring 2017 with a double major in International Affairs and Peace Studies with a minor in Political Science.  All four years of college, Bailey has been a part of and key contributor to the Division 1 Women's Lacrosse Team and made the Atlantic 10 All Conference Team last year.

1ST PLACE AT RICHFIELD.  The Chaska Chanhassen Bantam B2 Gold team completed a successful season.  Tournament highlights included a 1st place finish in Richfield and 3rd place finishes in Minneapolis and Cloquet, as well as beating longtime rival Edina.  Despite several obstacles and setbacks, they continued to work hard, stay positive, and persevere.

4TH PLACE AT STATE.  The Chanhassen Boys 5 Blue basketball team captured a 4th place finish in the Minnesota Youth Athletic Services (MYAS) State Basketball Tournament in the 5A division.  The team went 4-2 in the state tournament, beating Annandale, Edina, Prior Lake, and Shakopee.  They lost twice to Park Center in the tournament.

         The team had an extremely successful 2016-2017 season, finishing with a record of 34-12.  The Chan 5 Blue team finished in 1st place in four tournaments (Chaska, East Ridge, Waconia, St. Cloud) and 2nd place in four tournaments (Chanhassen, Blaine, Lakeville North, Woodbury).

CROWNED MEDALIST AT ROYAL MATCH.  The Bethel University women's golf team had an impressive showing in Saturday/Sunday, April 23/23 during the 2017 Royal Match at Deer Run Golf Club in Victoria as the Royals fired a two-day score of 629 at the par 72, 5801 yard course.  The 629 was aided by the Sunday second-round score of 307, which is the lowest single-day mark in program history.

         Christine Piwnica, daughter of Bill and Beth Piwnica of Victoria, earned medalist honors for the third time in her career as she edged the field of 73 golfers with a final tally of 150.  The junior fired a 76 on Saturday and finished with a two-over par 74 on Sunday to beat Mae Meiehenry from Gustavus College by two strokes.

         Bethel's spring season comes to a close April 30th when they travel to Hastings to take part in the Carleton Invitational at Bellwood Oaks Golf course.

         Bethel University's women's golfer, Christine Piwnica of Victoria, was voted MIAC Athlete of the Week for the third time in her career on Tuesday, April 25th, after earning medalist honors at the Royal Match the previous weekend.  Christine's two-day total of 150 (76/74) at the Deer Run Golf Course gave her the 1st Place finish out of 74 total golfers.
