Happy 50th Anniversary.  Robert and Marlene Maeser of Victoria were married February 20th, 1960, at Lake Harriet United Methodist Church in South Minneapolis by Rev. Dr. Dennis Nyberg.  They have three children, all living in Minnesota, along with seven grandchildren.  They celebrated their anniversary with a renewal of wedding vows at Discovery United Methodist Church in Chanhassen on February 20th, 2010, with friends and family, and were fortunate that Pastor Nyberg was available to renew their vows.  The primary residence of Bob and Mar has been here in the Twin Cities during their lives together, with some corporate relocation stops including Edmond, Oklahoma, with Control Data and Seagate Technologies, and also Milpitas, California, with Quantum Corporation.  They moved to Deer Run in Victoria in 1993.  They enjoy golf, are active in church, love to travel and spend time with family.  Happy anniversary, Bob and Mar.

Vic Four.  Victoria was well represented at the Minnesota State High School League top division 3A State Dance Meet at the Target Center February 12th and 13th.  Four dancers from Victoria are on the Chaska Varsity Dance Team that qualified by taking two third places at the Wayzata High School Sections Meet on January 30th.  Pictured above (l-r): Alison Brummett, Melanie Harincar, Kara Notvedt, and Tia Bont (Co-Captain).  These four girls have been dancing together either as next door neighbors or as friends or in studio, and now as high school teammates.

The Hawks Dancers made Chaska team history by qualifying in Jazz for the first time in the 11-years of MSHSL jazz qualifying sections.  Therefore, it is the first time in those 11 years that Chaska has gone to State in both Kick and Jazz.  The Chaska Hawks qualified for State High Kick the last four out of five years.  The Hawks reached the finals last year in Kick with the Vic Four, and finished second at State two years ago with Bont, Brummet, and Harincar also on that squad.

The team made it into the Jazz/Funk 3A Finals at the State High School Meet on February 12th and finished 5th overall.  The Hawks placed 7th in Precision/High Kick.  The team was named a 2010 MN Association of Dance teams Academic Team, for which members must have individual GPA’s above 3.85.   Kristina Bont, Alison Brummett, Hanna Mihalko of Chaska, Rebecca Porter and Melissa Stuckey of Chanhassen were named to the Academic All-State Team.  Kristina Bont and Jillian Bagley of Chanhassen were named to the All-Tournament 3A Jazz/funk Team.

Hope you had a Happy Valentine’s.  We did.  My mom flew in from San Diego just to see Tia’s last State Dance Meet and had a great time as the girls did a wonderful job!
