When I think of June, the last thing I think about is anything connected to fish or fishing or fishhooks or anything else on that order.  June remains for me a time for Father's Day, and for weddings and graduations and yard duty as we've relished the opportunity to be outdoors in the sun and warm breezes of the season.  It's a most wonderful time of the year.  If I picked up the tune from Cowboy Tom, I'd probably be singing, "There's a bright golden haze on the meadow ..."

But I should pick up a more appropriate tune for this column.  How about, "You and me going fishing in the dark, Lying on our backs and counting the stars Where the cool grass grows.  Down by the river in the full moon light, We'll be fallin' in love in the middle of the night Just moving' slow."

And I slowly moved my right hand into the minnow bucket, one finger after the other, until I found Kay Meuwissen of Chaska coming up for air.  Hi, Kay.  It's been a while!  You found the fishhook right where I stuck it, inside the bicycle tire on page 38.  Congratulations.  The ten bucks prize will be in the mail to you shortly.

I hid another fishhook in this issue of the Gazette.  If you find it, you're welcome to drop a line telling of its location and sinker in the mail to Box 387, Victoria, MN 55386 ... or you can use Sue@VictoriaGazette.com ... to be eligible for the drawing.

"And it don't mater if we sit forever and the fish don't bite.  Jump in the river and cool ourselves from the heat of the night.  Baby, get ready."
