90th Birthday Party. Lloyd Bonkoski of Victoria will soon be 90 years old. The party is at their home on Saturday, June 11th, starting at 1:00 p.m.

National Get Outdoors Day. Saturday, June 11th. Treats, samples, offerings in downtown Victoria including a Mobile Video Game Theater.

Flag Day. Celebrated each year in the United States on June 14th, Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the American flag. Believed to have first originated in 1885. Officially established by proclamation of President Woodrow Wilson on May 30th, 1916. Signed by President Harry S. Truman on August 3rd, 1949, as an Act of Congress designated June 14th of each year as National Flag Day.

Father's Day. This year it's Sunday, June 19th. The history of Father's Day dates back to 1909 in Spokane, Washington, and there were various proclamations over the years, but it was not until 1972 that President Richard Nixon established the third Sunday of June as a permanent national observance day of Father's Day.

Gazette Deadline. Deadline for the July issue of the Gazette is Monday, June 20th, or as close to that date as possible.

Wedding Bells. Jesse Wartman, daughter of Mike (former resident of Victoria and popular columnist for the Victoria Gazette) and Jodene Wartman of Prior Lake, is getting married June 18th.

Summer Begins. At the time of the summer solstice (June 21st), the sun is directly overhead at noon at the Tropic of Cancer. In the northern hemisphere, the longest day and shortest night of the year occur on this date, marking the beginning of summer.

Victoria Lions meet the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at the Victoria Hall on Rose Street at 6:30 p.m.

Victoria Business Council meets on an irregular basis.

Victoria Senior Citizens meet weekly on Thursdays at the Acorn House in Diethelm Park.
