GAZETTE

July 2011

To the Editor:

The Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota receives thousands of complaints each year from consumers who have unknowingly purchased multi-year magazine subscriptions.

Unscrupulous telemarketers sometimes trick consumers into buying subscriptions to magazines they don't want or can't afford.  Deceptive door to door magazine sales crews are also hitting the pavement this summer and they're looking to earn a quick buck.

Most complaints against salespeople allege that representatives took their check and the magazines never arrived.

Be aware of high pressure tactics and special offers to entice you.  Do not invite unsolicited salespeople into your home.  Look the company up yourself and verify the salesperson is an employee.  Don't fall victim to door to door salespeople.

To the Editor:

I hope all is well with you and that you are enjoying a beautiful summer.  I have the best memories from the past tour you joined me on to Fatima and Lourdes, as I hope you do too.

As you may have already seen in the parish bulletin, I write to let you know that I will be the chaplain for a tour to the Holy Land next April 2012.  For many it will be a trip of a lifetime and I would love to have you join me again.  Wishing you all the best.  Peace and blessings

Volunteers are being recruited from across the Twin Cities to clean up Minnehaha Creek this summer.  Only July 10th, the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District is teaming up with the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company to host the 5th annual Minnehaha Creek Cleanup at Lake Hiawatha in Minneapolis.  The goal this year is to collect 4,000 pounds of trash, double the amount that was hauled away during last year's event.

This is a family friendly event with plenty of prizes for the kids and prizes for adults, too.  The event is located at Lake Hiawatha where it meets with Minnehaha Creek in Minneapolis, and is free and open to everyone.  RSVP is required.  Visit www.MinnehahaCreek.org.

To the Editor:

I want to begin by saying Thank You for your support of Fresh Seasons Market.  It has been six months since we made a public appeal to the community we serve, asking you to make Fresh Seasons Market your grocery store of choice.

The immediate response to our appeal in December was a significant sales improvement.  Today, even though our sales trend versus last year is on the positive side, the momentum we experienced in the first couple of months has slowed.  We need you to regularly make a conscious decision to shop us and other local businesses so that we can continue to serve you.

Our goal is to offer you a wide selection of great quality groceries, meats, seafood, bakery items, deli products, and produce along with a pleasant in-store experience so you see and experience the value for the time and money you spend with us.

We want to be here for many years to come.  We can only do so by asking for and receiving your support.  If you haven't had a chance to try us, please visit.  If we can do anything to serve you better, please let us know.
