Dedicated to the sunshine of truth,

the moonshine of meeting deadlines,

and the starshine of Victoria.

To the Editor:

Chuck Harberg was a student pastor at Lake Auburn Moravian Church here in Victoria  from 1965 to 1966.  On August 12th, 1966, he married his first wife Linda Mortvedt.  Linda had worked with me at Prudential and I introduced them at a party at Walt and Gloria Thiede's home near downtown Victoria.

Chuck is now in intensive care at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.  Please ask folks for prayers for him and his wife Anne.  Chuck's sister Kris is with him, so a prayer for her would be good as well.

To the Editor:

Please find attached a press release from the Holy Family varsity and junior varsity dance teams' recent competitions.  Also attached is a photo of the team members along with the name of the community of their home residence.

Our students represent much of the southwest metro area, and we appreciate our coverage of their successes and stories.  Our parents are always delighted to see news of their students in their local paper.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  Thank you.

To the Editor:

Thank you for offering to print the story on my parents, Jerry and Jo Gross.  Victoria was such a major part of our family's life of which we all have fond memories.  Your newspaper is anticipated by my parents each month where I hear about something they read in the Gazette.  It will be a great surprise for them to come across their own familiar faces.  Let me know if there is anything else you need.

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue. I am wondering if you have written any stories about ASPIRE Beverages. Jesse Parker of Victoria along with his friend John Montague of Edina are two Minnesota hockey dads who wanted to find a healthier sports drink for their kids and, instead, invented their own sports drink, ASPIRE, which contains 25 calories, pure cane sugar and other natural sweeteners, real fruit extracts, electrolytes, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.  ASPIRE is available at Lunds/Byerly's, Holiday gas stations, and Kowalski's.

If you haven't written any stories, would you be interested in speaking with John and Jesse by phone?  I can also arrange to have some samples dropped by your office.  Please let me know if you are interested.

To the Editor:

Congratulations on your January Victoria Gazette issue -- specifically, the "2013 wrap-up" and the remarkable article and tribute to Thom Derr, "One Biker's Perspective, March 1999," and "One Editor's Perspective, January 2014."  It was a thoughtful article and another display of your journalism skills.  Your hard work really shines through, and it's obvious you care deeply in what you write.

With big news organizations, we read so much "spin" and generalities of little value that your presentations are especially welcome and satisfying.  Most news that appears in the "big" newspapers is already known to the reader because of easy access to TV and the internet.  One might just read the headlines and not the article itself.

Your personal journalism is what distinguishes the Victoria Gazette over other news organizations.  Those daily newspapers are typically disposed of with recycle items the following day, whereas our Gazzette stays around the house longer, finding a place next to my "big dog chair," and it's  read from cover to back page.

Your character strengths and creative gifts are worthy of acknowledgement.

To the Editor:

Thank you so much for the great ads for Counselor Realty Victoria!  We get so many compliments on our advertising.  I was in Florida November and December.  The article on my parents was amazing!  You are an awesome writer and captured their story and Billy's gifts beautifully.

         Warm regards,
