Did you hear about the two Minnesota farmers who were talking over by the chicken coop, and one of them mentions his trouble with the raccoons?  The other farmer asks him, “So did you try the lutefisk trick?”

“Well, yes,” said the first one.  “We tried the lutefisk and the raccoons did go away, but now we’ve got a family of Norwegians living under our house!”

Seems I played a little stinky trick on readers of the Gazette last month, too.  For the first time ever I hid the fishhook in a photograph, right in the right arm of Kelsey Burmeister on page 23 of the November issue of the Gazette, as you can see from above.

All these past many years, I’ve never stated that I would not hide the fishhook in a photograph; I just never have.  But there was Kelsey’s arm last month and I just couldn’t pass it up.  Sorry to have caused many of you sleepless nights and strained eyesight from poring over every inch of the November issue several times.  But please be forewarned, I may do that again in the future so keep your antenna up!  And good luck.

Some diligent souls did find the fishhook in Kelsey’s arm and ‘twas the night before Christmas when all through the house.  Oops, I got sidetracked in the season.  I meant to say, ‘twas Marlene Bentz of Excelsior who got pulled out of the minnow bucket just in time to win the $10 drawing.  Congratulations, Marlene.  You are quite the serious sleuth!

Another fishhook is waiting to be found in this Christmas issue of the Gazette.  With all these pages to scour, it won’t be easy.  Whether or not you’ve got Norwegian blood flowing in your veins is beside the question.  Be sure to move into the house before our next winter storm, whether or not you have trouble with raccoons.
