When the Tioga kids tracked in for the shower for Sophia, we also took our usual jaunt to the Mall of America. This time we did Underwater World because Addie and Gunnar love it, and we adults are impressed with it too. This is not the first time we’ve been through that underwater exhibit, but the sharks seemed bigger this time and the stingrays more threatening. That crocodile guy, Steve Irwin, was killed by a stingray piercing through his heart since we last met up with the stingrays.

Nobody was fishing in Underwater World so there weren’t any fishhooks dangling and waiting for a nibble. Last month Genny Harings of Chanhassen found my fishhook in the November issue of the Gazette dangling on the end of the cornucopia on page 30 in the Waterbrooke ad, so she was swimming around with all the rest of you in the minnow bucket until I pulled in the line and she was on the end of it to win the $10 drawing. Congratulations, Genny.

Until then, keep your distance from sharks and stingrays and don’t stay underwater too long or you could run out of breath.
