Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

Have  nice day, Sue.  Thank you from all the Lions.

         Kurt Zuppke

         Victoria Lion

To the Editor:

It sure seemed like yesterday seeing your column last month about “30 Years Ago,” from July 1979.  It mentioned some classmates.  One is my cousin Connie Schmieg, daughter of Frannie and Ray.  Frannie is my mom’s sister.

Other classmates were Jill Moore, Lonnie Miller, Lori Mechtel, Carol Kelzer, Terry Schmieg, Michelle Kaufhold, Roxy Notermann, Kelly McCaw.  Others on the team were older than us by at least two years, all married with children by now.

Some of our classmates are grandparents.  I must be getting old!  Although my folks were 43 and 47 when they had their first grandkid in 1970 (I have seven brothers and two sisters and my oldest sister is a grandma), I was only five years old then, an auntie at age 5.  Now it’s ten grandkids (six girls and four boys) and three great grandkids (two girls and one boy) plus step grandkids.  It keeps the grandma and grandpa hopping.

To the Editor:

Your fishhook in the July issue of the Gazette is hidden on the left chair of the Timberwall ad on page 9.  Great way to get kids interested in reading the paper.

         Jon Hokanson, Chanhassen, Minnesota

To the Editor:

This is so much fun!  After I find the fishhook, I read the Gazette from front to back.   It’s on page 9 in the lawnchair of the Timberwall ad.

         Pat Stacken, Eden Prairie, Minnesota

To the Editor:

For years we, the residents of Victoria, have said we need and want a grocery store.  Now we have one, and a very nice one at that.  But when you see the few cars that are in the grocery store parking lot daily, you have to know we are not supporting the store as we should.  So forget Cub and Target.  Shop Victoria!  Shop our grocery store.

         John Stubstad

To the Editor:

I wanted to let you know that Field #4 at Lions Park will be named Poppitz Field and there will be a presentation on Tuesday, July 14th, at 7:30 p.m. at the field.  Hope you can make it.

         Ann Mahnke, Park/Rec/Field House Director

         Victoria, Minnesota

To the Editor:

Attached is a news release from the MN Dept of Revenue reminding parnts to save school supply receipts for possible tax credits and subtractions.  Thank you.

         Lisa Waldrup, State of Minnesota

To the Editor:

Is it possible to purchase additional copies of the Gazette?  I have parents from my daughter’s soccer team begging for a copy of the paper and I don’t know where to find additional copies.  We really appreciate you publishing their picture.  We also really appreciate your doing the paper.  We fight over who gets it first when it arrives every month.  Thank you, Sue.
