T. Bishop:  "There were assumptions made that were wrong.  We don't have the population base and won't have it until 2020.  Assumptions haven't panned up.  We need to talk about what we're going to do about it."
R. Tieden:  "We could bring in some realtors."
T. Bishop:  "If we bring in every real-tor in the State of Minnesota, it wouldn't sell tomorrow.  We need to make up a $180,000 shortfall between now and the end of the year."

Proposed for 2007:
The proposed 2007 budget for the Victoria Field House still had to be dealt with.  It totals $1,066,289.
According to Finance Director Jylan Johnson, $508,256 (or 47.67%) of the revenues are proposed to come from user fees, advertising, contributions and dona-tions, and are proposed to be sufficient to cover the facility's gross revenue bond payments for 2007, totaling $374,722.
The remaining 52.33% of revenues are proposed to come from transfers from the city's General Fund and park improve-ment fees.

TIMBERWALL PREPARES TO EXPAND
BUYS SOME ADJACENT PROPERTY

On August 24th Victoria councilmem-bers approved a resolution that increases in size the land that Timberwall Land-scaping owns along Highway 5 just west of downtown Victoria from 4.86 acres to 8.27 acres.
The request was made by Stephen Haefner, one of the owners of Timber-wall, on behalf of Marvin and Marie Storms, for a minor subdivision whereby 3.41 acres of the adjacent Storms property was conveyed to Timberwall.
City councilmembers added a condi-tion, however, that had not been added by the Planning Commission
- that munici-pal water and sewer be brought to the site along with plans for expansion of the business.
Stated Mr. Haefner when asked if he planned to bring those services to his property, "We would intend to hook up to city sewer and water.  Obviously there'd be some expense ... a great cost to the Storms, so that's why we're proposing to expand over three to five years."
"For our business, we'd obviously prefer municipal utilities," he said.  "We hope to build a 15,000 to 20,000 square foot building and would want facilities for the public."
He explained, "The line has to run across the front of the Storms property to get to us.  Everybody would have their share of the cost.  Right now there are three of us."  The three property owners in that area, adjacent to each other, include Storms, Timberwall, and Servadock.
After adding a requirement to bring sewer and water to the site, Mayor Bohn pointed out to Marvin and Marie, "People who are retired can have that assessment deferred."
