*Lennar Corporation received ap-proval to replat Laketown 5th Addition. The revised plan will consist of twin homes and a few quad homes in place of the originally platted row homes. *Council approved hiring Holly Kreft to fill the position left vacant by Eric Zweber, former Victoria City Planner. The city received ten applicants. Holly Kreft has been the Community Develop-ment Director for the City of Belle Plaine for the last five years. She lives in Arling-ton with her spouse and three children. *Rich and Shelly Gannon received a variance from the shoreland setback for property on Lake Minnetonka in Victoria, located at Smithtown Road. The Gannons propose to raze the existing home on this property and build a new home. Said Rich, "My wife and I have worked with an architect to have as minimal impact as possible. We don't want to alter the grad-ing. We have met with our neighbors on either side. They've actually written letters in support." *Mayor Bohn said on August 20th that he read in the Minneapolis Star Tribune about successful exercise rooms. "Basically, that's what we have at the Field House. I think there's a place for us." *County Attorney Mike Fahey told councilmembers that the county has a prosecution agreement with 10 of the 11 cities in Carver County; Chaska, with its own police department, is the exception. Total cost for prosecution, he said, is $320,000 not including overhead. Total in fines received at the county attorney's office is $86,266. The County Board believes the county should get at least 50% of fines back from the cities. Victoria is 7.5% of the caseload. They will also be talking to the judges about increasing the fines because violators generate the revenue. *Some downtown business owners asked that certain parking designations be made in the central business district of Victoria, such as 15-minute parking spaces and 2-hour maximum parking spaces. The request will be reviewed by the Victoria Business Development Com-mittee for a recommendation. *Council authorized staff to advertise for Request for Proposals to update the City of Victoria's Comprehensive Plan. The Selection Committee to update the Plan will include two councilmembers, two members of the Planning Commis-sion, the city administrator, and the plan-ning director. *Council approved the addition of a new lot at the end of a cul de sac at the Gallery 2nd Addition, overlooking the Deer Run Golf Course. *Victoria city councilmembers were appointed, by resolution, to be commis-sioner's of Victoria's Economic Develop-ment Authority. *Staff was directed to consider how costs might be covered for a traffic study at the dangerous intersection of Park Drive at Highway 5. Stated City Attorney Mike Norton, "The Park is not exempt from assessments." Regarding improve-ments to Park Drive, Victoria City Coun-cilmember Kim Roden stated, "They told me point blank they will not pay." *Residents at Kelzer Pond asked for a review of the Ordinary Highwater Mark of the pond, requesting that it be lowered. The city engineer reported that the DNR reviewed the OHM and proposed, instead, that it be increased.
