"Letters" October '04 continued

To the Editor:
I am writing to express my support for Dave Lindgren's re-election to the Victoria City Council.  Dave has been a valuable member of the council for a number of years.  While he may never be the most outspoken or vocal member of the council, Dave Lindgren often provides insight into community sentiment, Vic-toria traditions, and intended direction from many of the past councils.
Dave makes every effort to stay in touch with many members of the commu-nity and is always open to hearing what folks have to say on issues.  In addition, Dave provides a worthwhile link to many of the most generous groups the city works with, in particular the Victoria Lions.
I commend Dave for his dedication and service and ask residents to consider voting for him in the upcoming election.  Thank you, Dave, for your continued service to the Victoria community.

To the Editor:
Thanks for the email.  Since I'm only a few months into the ministry here at Faith, it's good for me to receive some reminders like the one you sent.  I appre-ciate your work with the Victoria Gazette.  The few issues that I've seen show me that you do an excellent job.
I just wanted to let you know that I'm very interested in writing something for the Gazette, but I don't believe I'll be able to make it for the October issue.  Since I'm just getting my feet on the ground, I don't believe I'll be able to cover the same ground as Pastor Lemke right away.
Thanks for the reminder, and keep me on your list, if that's okay.  It's much appreciated.

To the Editor:
On behalf of myself, Russell Wall, a volunteer fireman on the Victoria Fire Department, I support reelecting Richard Tieden for the Victoria City Council.  He has been the main supporting city council-member for the Victoria Fire Department.
I feel his support is crucial for the future of the Fire Department.  As our city grows, our need for more volunteers and new equipment also grows.
City Councilmember Richard Tieden understands that the volunteer firemen and women put a lot of their personal time into training and responding to fire and medical calls.  Reelecting Richard Tieden for city council will help ensure that the City of Victoria has a fire department that has the resources needed to grow with the city.

To the Editor:
The City of Victoria will continue to grow and evolve as a thriving community.  As it does, the city will be in a unique position to redefine and shape its own future.
As you prepare your vote this No-vember for a new Victoria City Council-member, you need to consider a candidate with solid qualifications to take the city to this next chapter of growth.  I strongly believe Kim Roden is that candidate for the Victoria City Council.
I've had the pleasure of working with Kim for the past three years on the Vic-toria Planning Commission.  In that time, I have come to appreciate Kim's business acumen, her thoroughness in understand-ing complex issues, and her balanced and fair approach in making decisions to determine the best course for the city.
Kim Roden is a veteran planning commissioner who has earned the respect of her peers and has done her homework to prepare for a position on the city coun-cil.  Because of Kim's role on the Plan-ning Commission, she has an excellent grasp of some of the major initiatives in front of the city in the foreseeable future.
She has worked tirelessly on the Mas-ter Planning process for the Southside annexation for the last two years and is a driving force in recognizing the need for a major transportation build out in the Southwest corridor.
As we enter into a new chapter for the city, your support and vote for Kim Roden on November 2nd is much appre-ciated.

To the Editor:
Thank you to all who donated to the worthy cause of the Hungarian Orphanage at the Waterbrooke Fellowship Face Painting table at Touch of Bavaria.  All the money will be used to purchase food and supplies for the kids when our minis-try returns to the orphanage this Novem-ber.  Bless you for your loving generosity.

To the Editor:
On his last fishing trip to Rainy Lake, my friend Jerry Hartman brought me a copy of the Gazette.  You have a great paper, located in a unique town.  Please send me a subscription.  I plan on visiting Victoria again this October.
