To the Editor:
The CAP Agency combined its an-nual Coat for Kids event with school supply distribution.  Over 1,200 children received coats and 750 received school supplies on August 21st.
We depend on the support of the community to provide these services and are very grateful for their generosity.  All coats were donated and all school supplies were donated or purchased with donated funds.
Thank you to St. Mary's Parish Cen-ter in Shakopee for the donation of their facility, to the 30 volunteers who donated 240 hours for these projects, and to the hundreds of residents who donated coats, supplies, or money to make this possible.
We at the CAP Agency are continu-ally gratified to be doing our work in communities that care about their neigh-bors.

Hi, Sue.  I have become the area rep for the Carver County Daycare Associ-ation for Victoria.  I am supposed to find out what your ad rates are for displaying our meeting times.  If you have any other information, that would help, let me know.

To the Editor:
Public safety agencies within Carver County held a disaster exercise on Thurs-day, September 9th.  The exercise simu-lated a severe weather related incident at Baylor Park in Camden Township.
The agencies involved in this exer-cise included the Carver County Sheriff's Office, their Communications Office, Norwood Young America Fire Depart-ment, New Germany Fire Department, Ridgeview Ambulance, Ridgeview Medi-cal Center, Carver County Parks Systems, Carver County Red Cross, Carver County Community Health, Carver County Risk Emergency Management, and others.
Goals of the exercise were to evaluate communications between organizations, evaluate effectiveness of the emergency response organizations, evaluate the private-public coordination and communi-cation, utilize the START Triage System, and evaluate various tactical strategies with law enforcement, fire departments, and EMS agencies.

To the Editor:
Had a great weekend.  Went to see my oldest grandson Tanner get checked in at Gustavus Adolphus at St. Peter.  Glad to hear about Miss Adeline's new play-mate.  That's great.  Always enjoy word about your family.  With greetings and love to all of you.

To the Editor:
It has recently come to my attention that the Carver County Administrator has recommended all Carver County funding to Southern Valley Alliance for Battered Women be cut in 2005.  The recommen-dation to cut all county funding, which is $9,000 of the $4 million in cuts that Carver County is making, is beginning to threaten the very existence of SVABW.
Over the past 20 years that the South-ern Valley Alliance has served Carver County residents, we have assisted 3,573 victims of domestic violence and thou-sands of their children.
Ours is the only program that pro-vides direct services to victims of domes-tic violence in Carver County.  I would ask the citizens of Carver County to reach out to your commissioners and make a strong statement to not cut our funding.

To the Editor:
Hello from a subscriber who recently became reinstated.  I'm sending best wishes and love, wishing you and the Gazette all success.  I would like to send a message to my Notermann cousins.
I have learned that the name of our ancestor was Maximillianus Notermans, who was born in the town of Obbict on July 16th, 1751, in the Netherlands.  He was the father of eight sons but no daughters.  We Victoria descendants are the sons of Aegidius Gelis Notermans, born on May 21, 1726, who was son number six.  In my Dictionary of Saints, the name Aegidius is a variation of "Giles."
If you wish to see the names of the other sons and some of their history, drop me a note.  I'm trying to find someone who can read the language of the Nether-lands so I can decipher the history.
It was a pleasure for me to receive this news from a third cousin named Marie Notermans, who is married to Mr. Dabekausen and lives in Belgium.
Best wishes to all my Notermann cousins.

To the Editor:
It looks like Victoria is getting a new housing development on page 34 of the September Gazette, with a fishhook hidden in its shrubs!  Hmmm.  Maybe they will call it Fish House Acres.  Father Conran Schneider could be the gardener.  Our cooler summer had an effect on the gardens this year.
