many water treatment facilities have they [the council] built? I truly think that in the best interest of the city residents, the city should consider researching construc-tion management and looking into a part-nership with an experienced construction manager. I truly hope that no one is "losing sleep" over the $1,000,000.00, but I would hope that it is of great concern! Thank you. Norie Egan-Hennen Victoria resident for 10 years
To the Editor: Thanks for the great city news in the last Gazette. Tom Walsh Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I have just been recovering from a fall which required a shoulder replace-ment. I was immobile for six weeks. I had a lot of time to wonder if I would ever recover. I prayed a lot. It helped. I came across an article which I thought you would enjoy, as you play the piano. You may want to show the piano story in your November edition of the Gazette, as we prepare for Christmas. Thank you for your consideration and your great publication. Malcolm MacAlpine Victoria, Minnesota EDITOR'S NOTE: Thank you for the good material, Mr. MacAlpine. I read every word of it. I too believe there is no such thing as coincidence.
To the Editor: My ad and your whole October issue of the Gazette were great! Here is my payment. Let's hope all roads (especially those in our Schutz Lake neighborhood!) lead to "done" soon. Best regards. Kim Roden Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thank you for publishing the names of our ancestors. You arranged the message clearly and now it's off my mind. I am astounded at the growth of the Gazette and the growth of our little town since our grandparents arrived from the Netherlands. This progress is probably what they envisioned. And what a part you have played in this development! My late husband, Milton, worshipped every-thing you did. He loved it. With Schutz Lake in your front yard, you are living at the lakeshore his parents owned and settled on. Here's to your continued success. Thank you for everything you do. Please find my check for my future subscription to the Gazette. Elizabeth (Notermann) Fink Hopkins, Minnesota
To the Editor: Leon found your fishhook in the old phonograph on the Senior Citizens Report. He says, "Pretty tricky, but not tricky enough for him." He reads the Gazette from stem to stern and so do I and we both enjoy it very much. Please keep it up. Thank you. Carol Maas St. Bonifacius, Minnesota
To the Editor: The Victoria Lions Girls Fastpitch Association takes this opportunity to thank Lois and Rick Plocher, the proprietors of Floyd's, for their generous donation of $1,000. They contributed funds from their Blues Festival which was held August 6th and 7th, and there were numerous bands under a big tent for three days. We will be using the money for uni-forms and equipment. We helped with tickets and cleanup, with the girls who participate in softball in Victoria doing the work. The Victoria Lions Athletic Asso-ciation also helped. Rick and Lois are truly an asset to our community. Let's remember to support their fine establishment. We hope to see even more people at next year's Blues Festival. Mike Wolke Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: The Carver County Licensed Child Care Association is proud to announce that Sue Goebel of Bongards and Dawn Grace of Chaska have been named Carver County's Child Care Providers of the Year for 2004. Sue and Dawn and other providers of the year from Minnesota were honored at the Minnesota Licensed Family Child Care Association Statewide Early Child-hood Conference and Recognition Ban-quet held October 8th and 9th at the Marriot Southwest. Other nominees from Carver County included Nikki Aslakson of Waconia, Diane Bartz Sanders of Excelsior, Lori Burns of Watertown, Molly Diethelm of Victoria, Sheila Janke of Chaska, Debbie Krueger of Watertown, ReNae Motl of Victoria, and Betsy Pysick of Cologne. Each spring the CCLCCA accepts nominations. Anyone may nominate a child care provider for his honor. They must have been licensed for at least three years, demonstrate professional skills in child care, made a positive impact in the lives of children, and be involved in their community. ReNae Motl Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Greetings to all the Gazette staff. Happy Halloween and hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. Looks like the "hunter" on the card captured some-thing but it doesn't look like a turkey. I believe I captured the fishhook on page 38 by the Senior Citizens Column. Mrs. Frank Schneider Shakopee, Minnesota
