"Letters to the Editor" Continued.

To the Editor:
I m an Army Vietnam Veteran and I enjoyed your feature article last month, "Home on the High Seas."  I would like to see more articles on our men and women in the Military Service.  The general pub-lic needs to know the commitments and sacrifices they are making.  Freedom is not free.  I enjoy getting the Victoria Gazette.  Thank you.

Blaine, Minnesota

EDITOR'S NOTE:  Thank you for writing, Jim.  I agree with you.  Makes me think of Steve Sarvi, the City Administra-tor of Victoria who is on his third tour of duty, this time 18 months away from home, now in Iraq.  He hasn't written for a while.  Steve, are you there?

To the Editor:
Carver County activated the Carver County Flood Information Phone Line in April.  The number is 952-361-1370.  It is a communications tool to provide the latest flood related information in the county to the public.
The information line is recorded and it provides current information in the areas of emergency procedures, transpor-tation, road closures, river levels, and more.  No message can be left at this number.  The same information will be placed on the Carver County website at www.co.carver.mn.us.  The information will be updated at least daily or more frequent as the need develops.

To the Editor:
Thank you for sending Jesse Cog-hill's poetry book, Voices Are Calling, for my dental office plus the bonus by Father Elstan Coghill, Prints of a Priest.  When I saw that book, I thought "that must be the Sue Orsen my mother talks so much about."  So we had fun at the office making all the connections, and we have a couple of fun books for the reception area.  By the way, I personally like poems with rhyming words - like Jesse's.
I appreciate your thoughtfulness.

To the Editor:
Someone surprised us with a sub-scription to the Victoria Gazette, for which we say Thank You!  Interesting to read of the area.  We have a close tie with Lake Auburn Moravian Church, a family tie with Thurk and Krey's.  Thanks.

To the Editor:
Great paper with a lot of local news.  It is always fun to read the "specials" that you do.  Of course, I enjoy reading the government news.  My very best to you.

To the Editor:
Hi, Sue.  Thanks for responding to my article about the orphanage in Kenya.  About a month or more ago, I sent the article to the Sun Sailor and the Minne-apolis paper.  Neither wrote it up.  A couple weeks ago I sent it to the Excelsior Bay Times and they printed it last week.
Yes, we have pictures.  We also have a one-hour video, which will be showing at our home and you are welcome to come.  Most of it takes place in a very poor orphanage.  We would like to hear from you.

To the Editor:
You are good at hiding the fishhook, this time in the bunny's flowers on page 4. but I can't enter the KleinBank coloring contest because you have to be age 12 and under.  Oh, well.  Happy Easter and many blessings to you.

To the Editor:
Howdy, Sue.  The dancing shoes have been traded in for running shoes, and the hay bales are back in the barn.  How-ever, the Victoria Elementary School hoedown event made memories to last a lifetime.
Thanks so much for sharing news and photo of the event last month in the Victoria Gazette.  It means so much to the families and the community to see the newest school in action.
The school has been a great addition to the community and the kids are really enjoying their first year at V.E.S.  Thanks for your support.  Happy Spring.

To the Editor:
Hi, Sue.  You may already know this, but the City of Victoria has worked to pump excess water out of Kelzer Pond.  Dave Urbia would be the contact person if you want more information.  I am sure pictures in the May issue of the Gazette would be interesting.  I hope you had a nice Easter Sunday.
