To the Editor: Last month I forgot to thank all who sent me cards and gifts for Christmas. I don't say, "I would like to thank ..." but I say, "I do thank ..." I also wonder how many English teachers stress that it's incorrect to use a singular verb with a plural subject or object, exempli gratia, "There is many times ..." Correct English requires, "There are many times ..." Major league baseball leaves much to be desired lately. Why allow the Yankees and a few other teams to acquire most of the best players? There should be a salary cap for individual players as well as a cumulative salary cap for a team. Pay the so-called prima donnas fewer millions and bring admission ticket prices down. Also, there should be a law that for-bids managers, coaches, and players to spit at us when the camera is on them. Saliva can spread AIDS and other dis-eases. Sue, your paper is unique and truly appreciated by so many. Father Conran Schneider, OFM Chaska, Minnesota

To the Editor: I just searched in Google for Lake Minnetonka pictures and found some in www.VictoriaGazette.com ranked 26. I have a related website about apparel that's purely informational, so I'm not a competitor of yours, and I'd like to link to your site. I consider my site to be one of the best resources for this type of information. I get a decent amount of visitors to it so if I link to you, your site should get some decent traffic from it. I only link to good quality sites. I think you'll find my site to be high quality as well. In exchange, I would ask that you also link to my site. I've already linked to you and will keep it there for a few days until I hear from you. Please let me know asap if you're interested and I'll send you my information. Thanks. Becky Marshall via email

To the Editor: Hi, Sue. There are some special things coming in March to Lake Auburn including The Potluck Studies on Wednesday evenings by Rick Warren and "The Purpose Driven Life;" a dessert auction to help a congregation in Limon, Costa Rico, buy a stove for their church and perhaps a notebook computer; and our Sunday School kids going to Westview Acres for a sharing visit later this month. Easter is coming, too. Plans are being made for the Sunrise Service and Breakfast. Stay warm and well. Peace and blessings. Pastor Frank Jones Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: We moved about ten months ago to a new location so we contacted you last month to request sending the Gazette to our new location and not our old one anymore. There are only two offices (departments) in our new building, and we both receive your wonderful paper, but we really don't need the third copy. Thanks. Donna Eder Carver County Public Works Cologne, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thank you for picking us for your "Valentine" paper. Many people have told us what a nice article you wrote. It's amazing what you can do with ordinary people. We are so fortunate to have many wonderful family members and friends. Dave has found that the life after the Park District is great. We can do what we want and when want to. Oh, the fishhook is on page 24 in Dr. Tim's ad. (Thanks again.) Rosie Williams, and Dave, too Victoria, Minnesota
