them ... and also one monumental question about a "major" Minnesota current event! I thank the students for responding to yet another written "assignment." May your wings become even stronger and carry you to wonderful places.
Andrea Wells Favorite books or authors. Gone With The Wind, The Poisonwood Bible Famous people. Probably the two most well known people that I admire are Helen Keller and Amelia Earhart. Both of these women fought through difficulties with amazing persistence and were able to accomplish things unimaginable. They knew they were capable of great things, they set their goals, and they fought to accomplish what they needed to. I hope to do the same with my own life. Best teachers. One of the best teachers I have ever had was my second grade teacher from Guymon, Oklahoma, Mrs. Livesey. She really challenged me (even though I was only in second grade) and got me caught up from moving so much and missing so many important parts of my education. She taught disciplined learning and behavior and made sure her entire class was prepared for the future. Another one of the best teachers I ever had was Mr. Jason Pelowski, the Media Productions instructor at Chaska High School. He teaches his students not only about film and media, but also about life in general. He also taught us how to work independently and rely on each other for help and guidance. He really opened the door for the beginning of my career by guiding me through all the parts of news production. My parents. I have learned many valuable lessons from my parents. They are my primary teachers in every aspect of my life. They introduced me to all of the things that I have chosen to pursue in my life. They taught me to be responsible and caring. They taught me to always work hard towards my goal. They taught that life is not always easy and taught me ways to deal with hardships. Without them, I would most definitely not be the person I am today. Three wishes. My first wish would be that I had a great family life in my future. I would wish that my parents lived long enough to get to know their grand-children and that I had a loving, fun, and stable household with my husband and children. My second wish would be to have a successful career. I would hope to be able to work hard and someday be able to report or anchor for a major news station. My third wish would be that I am able to make a positive difference in the lives of many people before I die. I hope to be able to use the gifts I have been given to do good things for the world around me. Vikings and Twins. I think it is important to have some professional sports teams in the area, but I do not think it completely necessary to have all of them. I think that the money for the new stadium should be primarily funded by the team itself because they are the ones making most of the money. Our taxes would be better spent on education, affordable housing, etc. Future plans. University of Missouri, Columbia. Major in Broadcast Journal-ism. Occupation as a Television Reporter/Anchor. Parents. Pam and Eddie Wells.
Kelly Burau Favorite books or authors. Charlotte's Web by E.B. White, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Path, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst. Famous people. The Dahli Lama stood up for what he believed in and never gave up on his people. He is also a very peaceful man with peaceful intentions. Martin Luther King, Jr., had a message of tolerance and hope for the future. Even though I don't know if we've lived up to what he wished for us, I know that we've definitely made progress. Best teachers. Mr. Larry Bachman was my 9th grade history teacher, and he was not an ordinary teacher by any means. He wore Elmo ties and All-Star shoes to school. Mr. Bachman taught in a way that got attention as well as the attention of those who took his class. He spoke to us as young adults and not specifically as students. He made me want to learn about the history he was teaching. He challenged me constantly and never wanted to see any of his students fail. Mr. Bachman was unique, to say the least, and I believe that through his distinct style I learned that not all things need to be conventional to make a point. My parents. From my mom and dad I have learned to be proud of the things I have worked for and achieved. Also, I have learned to never be afraid to try new things, even if it's only once that you do something. Three wishes. Good health for my lifetime. Be hired to a well-paying job I will enjoy. Life filled with laughter. Vikings and Twins. Is it important that Minnesota keep the Vikings and Twins? Yes. Would I like to help for a new stadium? No. While I understand that the Vikings and Twins bring lots of income to our state, and I wouldn't want to stop that, I don't feel that it is my personal responsibility to help team owners purchase a new stadium. Future plans. University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Major in Communications. Occupation in Public Relations. Parents. Loane and Joyce Burau.
