To the Editor:
Thank you to all who contributed to our Friends of Hungary Sale.  It was a wonderful success.  We raised $1,260.  We are grateful for all those who helped and especially grateful for the good weather.  We had lots of opportunities to tell people about the Hungarian Mission and vision for a better life for those orphanage kids.  Hold onto your stuff, as I will continue to have sales throughout the year to raise funds for this cause.  Cheers!

To the Editor:
As I grew up near Victoria and now live in Victoria for many years, I was most pleased to see the neat article in the July-August 2006 edition of the Minne-sota Preservationist, on page 8.  The article was attributed to the Victoria Gazette.  The only additional comment I have is that the name Notermann has two n's and only one 'n' was used in the article.

To the Editor:
Hi, Sue.  It was great to hear about Father Elstan and Father Bernardine in your July issue of the Gazette.  What a treat to see them both online in Sue's Album.
I've had two good phone visits with Father Elstan lately and both times I had to give him sad news.  He lost his brother in law Ed Polingo of Montrose to cancer last week.  The week before he lost a little grand nephew, just three years old, in Wisconsin.
In regard to the last incident, this is a heads up from a frightened grandmother (me) about car windows.  Little Zachary Cole Lyrek, grandson of Father's sister Joan, got his head caught in a window left down just a few inches, but enough for him to get his head in, when he climbed up the outside of the car door.  It only took a few minutes and he was gone.  Please pray for his family.
Love the Victoria Gazette and love you.

To the Editor:
Good morning.  I am preparing a press release that I believe will be of interest to your readers, and I'm hoping you'd consider holding the deadline open for a couple hours past noon today.  I'll need to do a bit of proofing before I send it over.  It won't be more than a couple paragraphs and I'll send a photo along.  The topic is a Racial Disparity Initiative panel that I served on, and the working group that spontaneously formed to assist with some legislation I offered this last year.
Please let me know if you are unable to accommodate the extension.  I truly appreciate your help.

To the Editor:
I have attached a meeting notice for the Metropolitan Council's public meeting on the Victoria and St. Bonifacius Area Interceptor Improvements.
As you know, this is an ongoing project to replace aging equipment and facilities and increase sewer capacity to meet the long term waste-water needs of St. Bonifacius, Waconia, Waconia Town-ship, Laketown Township, and Victoria.
This meeting will discuss sewer routes and a project schedule.  I would really appreciate if you could include a meeting notice in your next edition of the Victoria Gazette, if the timing works.
The July 12th public information meeting signals the start of design for the 2006-2010 improvements.
Additional improvements are planned for 2015-2030, including the rebuilding of the existing lift station located along Hwy 7 near the Minnetrista-St. Boni border and replacing the forcemain interceptor sewer along Hwy 7 from St. Boni to Victoria with larger sewer; and replacing the force-main interceptor sewers along Hwy 5 from Waconia to Victoria with larger sewers.
Questions can be directed to Tim O'Donnell, Senior Information Coordina-tor of the Metropolitan Council Environ-mental Services staff, at 651-602-1269, and Wendy Reust, Principal Engineer at the Met Council at 651-602-4514.  By email, you are invited to contact us at data.center@metc.state.mn.us.
